Meter Keys - Control who can turn off your power - Most of NSW. Control who can turn your power off! Meter Readers can still access your box FT&T have 2 locations. Of course we also provide “road service” to our clients.

FT&T Security Locksmiths have been “Locking up locals” from Buladelah to John’s river and out to Gloucester and Stroud since 1988 ………. Our Head Office and main workshop is in Forster with a second workshop and showroom in Taree. With 5 service vans on the road we can usually respond to your needs quickly. Each workshop has a service manager who is able to answer most questions you have, they also

have the back-up of trade qualified locksmiths. FT&T is proud to support apprentices – we’ve trained 8 over the years and still have 3 of them with us. All Locksmiths employed by FT&T hold NSW Security Licences. This is the law in NSW. If you have someone “fixing” your lock, ask to see their security licence. To hold one of these the applicant has had to pass in depth security checks from the NSW Police, they are “squeeky clean”. The business owner must also hold a Master Licence – even more involved to be granted a Master Licence. FT&T also has a “SCEC endorsed” locksmith – the Boss – JD. SCEC endorsement involves an ASIO check as well as passing strict tests of hi-security product servicing. JD also holds a 2A Security Licence, this required a diploma in risk assessment and Security assessment – this is the minimum licence requirement in NSW to be able to trade as a Security Consultant. JD also holds an “Open Cabler’s Licence” for wiring Access Controls systems in high rise buildings. FT&T are Business Members of the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia (MLAA) I would urge you to check out the standards needed to become a member of this prestige group. Click here for more details http://www.masterlocksmiths.com.au/ In 2013 FT&T were awarded the tender as sole supplier of consumer locking products for the Essential Energy network. FT&T Security Locksmiths are a family run business that has been providing security solutions to locals in the Great Lakes and Manning Master Licenceregions since 1988. We operate from two workshops – the main workshop and head office is at 48 Macintosh st Forster, and our other workshop is at 69 Whitbread St, Taree. FT&T Security Locksmiths were chosen for this project partly because we have extensive connections throughout NSW and it will be with the help of these participating Locksmiths across the state, that we are able to provide exceptional service to Essential Energy’s customers. Essential Energy takes the security of their customer’s assets seriously, they have commissioned an Australian produced restricted “broach” and key design that ensures that illegal copies of keys to your meter box cannot be made. Keys and locks can only be supplied through licensed Locksmiths who are part of the project, and meet the criteria required to perform at high levels of integrity. We encourage you to take a tour of this website to purchase your locking solutions, if you have any questions you should call 1300 736 236 for assistance. We have well trained locksmiths on hand to advise you and offer the best possible solutions. Be aware that most of the equipment in your meter box is actually the property of Essential Energy – the meters, live side wiring and the “fuse block” – when a meter reader attends your site to read the meter they also inspect the installation to ensure it is safe and up to standards. Tampering with these installations is a recipe for disaster, only trained staff should access these areas. This is why the meter readers carry a Master Key to open your box, all Essential Energy emergency workers also have the ability to open your meter box for emergency repairs or routine maintenance.
