Rod was telling us it was time for a diesel unit and something that had an electric over hydraulic tipping tray for ease of cleaning.

Something a bit different
Over the King's birthday I took my Dad's little grey fergy up to Wentworth to be part of the Flood Rally to celebrate 70 years since the little tractor helped save the town from the 1956 floods by building a levy bank around the town.
I have been working on his tractor over the last few months as a surprise for Dad . He had no idea that I had restored it and was to bring it up for the Rally.
He was very surprised and said to me that he had given up hope that he would ever see it restored.

On Saturday with a thick fog we set off from Wentworth for a 70km Trek first stop out to Pomona for morning tea then we headed across to Fort Courage for lunch and a bit of a rest before we headed back towards Wentworth around the back of the Perry Sand Hills and back to the show grounds via the Lock.

Sunday was another early start as we headed back into the main street of Wentworth for a 9 am set up.
Official count up took place and we managed to set a new WORLD record of 110 Grey Fergys in the one place .
Then at 11.30 the reenactment from 1956 when after the floods were over a fergy was driven into the Royal Hotel for a well deserved drink.

The best part of the weekend for me was getting my Dad back on his tractor and for him to drive it once more ❤️

The event was run by the Wentworth Shire Council and was very well managed.
Well done for such a great event.
