Weā€™ve been a little quiet on here lately, but for a pretty good reason.

Jade and I took a much-needed break away to celebrate 10 years of marriage. It was good to switch off for a bit, spend some time together and enjoy a change of scenery.

Then we got to watch one of my closest mates marry the love of his life ā€” must be something in the air lately šŸ˜‚

Huge congratulations to Maddi and CJ ā€” Mr & Mrs White. šŸ¾

Just as we were starting to relax, it was time to get straight back into it.

We made it home for about an hour before the phone rang for a call-out ā€” the front blade had detached off a Kobelco. Got that sorted, then it was straight on the road to Moura for drill rig servicing and GET work on the Hitachi EX5600.

Bit of a contrast going from dressed up for weddings one minute to standing beside some serious iron the next.

šŸ’Æ After finding a hydraulic oil leak on our Komatsu PC58UU-3, we gave the machine a detailed clean-down to trace the source properly. The fault was narrowed down to a failed hydraulic hose in the stick-in circuit at the main control valve. With the hose buried amongst a tight cluster of hydraulic lines, we went through our workshop manual library, confirmed the hose routing and connections, then removed and replaced the failed line before testing the machine back into operation. šŸ’Æ

With the PC58 back working, we put it straight to use spreading and levelling clean fill around the property.

A few other maintenance jobs knocked over at the same time:

Full set of replacement tyres on the forklift

Upgraded running gear/undercarriage on the mobile welding trailer following repeated spring and suspension component failures

General servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance ready for the next run of work

Not every job makes for a perfect photo, but keeping our own plant, support equipment and mobile welding setup maintained and reliable is just as important as the work we carry out for our customers.

This one was a smashed up handrail on a Hitachi that needed some attention. We fabricated the repair, fitted it up, and reinstalled the handrail, getting it back into shape and ready for work again.

Itā€™s been a massive month behind the scenes at Bauzerā€™s Metal Worksā€”and no two jobs have been the same. šŸ”„

From working alongside the FMS lads on a slew-bearing change-out and resurfacing work on a Terex RH340, to filling in as a breakdown boilermaker/fitter chasing drills and draglines through the night.

Back home, weā€™ve kept pushing through:

An urgent transition loading chute for filling one-tonne bulk bags ahead of compliance testing and commissioning

Cattle-yard modifications and repairs

Semi-trailer modifications

A major rotary hoe rebuild and rectification using supplied replacement parts

At the same time, weā€™ve been designing stick rakes, access ladders and platforms, ordering materials and preparing upcoming projects to keep the next few months moving.

Now weā€™re heading straight into another major shutdown for the next seven days. āš’ļø

We havenā€™t posted in a while, but Bauzerā€™s Metal Works has been extremely busy behind the scenes!

Weā€™ve recently linked up with some very talented draftsmen to help bring several upcoming projects to life(Should have done it years ago šŸ« ) ā€”including this custom dozer stick rake and silo access ladder with a lockable gate and platform.

Amazing work by the lads on these designs. Having detailed CAD drawings completed before fabrication allows us to iron out any issues before the job hits the workshop floor.

This means:

āœ… Less time spent drafting and working through changes during fabrication
āœ… Faster and smoother project turnaround
āœ… Less stress and fewer unexpected problems
āœ… Reduced labour timeā€”helping save our clients money in the long run

It also frees us up to keep pumping out quality fabrication and repair work while the next projects are being planned properly behind the scenes.

My wife Jade is the woman behind the scenes at Bauzerā€™s Metal Works. As our Admin and Business Development Manager, she keeps everything organised and helps drive the business forward while Iā€™m out on the tools.

It's been a hectic few weeks at Bauzer's Metal Works!

Jade has officially stepped into the business, taking over our admin and management. We wrapped up our crew spot at Isaac Plains, knocked over some urgent local repairs, then decided to give the welding trailer a well-earned birthday... which quickly turned into a full rebuild! šŸ˜…

Then, with just 3 days' notice, the call came for a 14-day shutdown.

So it was all systems goā€”rebuild, restock, load up, and hit the road.

Looking forward to putting the refreshed setup to work. Thanks to everyone for the ongoing support! āš’ļøšŸ”„
