The United States Navy guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG-56) was lifted by the heavy lift ship MV Treasure at Changi Port, Singapore.
The lifting operation was conducted using a float-on/float-off method, where the MV Treasure, one of the world's largest heavy lift ships, lowered its hull to allow the warship to slowly enter the ship before pumping out water to lift the McCain onto the carrier deck.
This step was taken as part of a strategic transfer to a shipyard in the United States for extensive repairs and modernization, following damage from a previous collision.
