๐Ÿ‘ Tiffy โ€“ Congratulations and thank you for 20 Years!

Twenty years is an incredible milestone. Tiffy has been part of the AWMA journey for longer than 300+ people who have passed through our doors.

Tiffy completed a fabrication apprenticeship and went on to become our go-to aluminium specialist for much of his career. For the past two decades, he has played a huge role in manufacturing countless water control gates and flood barriers.

In fact, itโ€™s safe to say Tiffy could hold the title of the person who has made more water control gates than anyone else in Australian history!

Congratulations Tiffy and thank you for the skills, experience, commitment and contribution youโ€™ve brought to AWMA over the years.

Hereโ€™s to many more milestones and hopefully plenty more names joining you on the honour boards in the years ahead! ๐Ÿ‘

As the 2026 Australian Cotton Conference draws to a close today, AWMA's Screen Team has valued the opportunity to contribute to important discussions around sustainable water management and environmental stewardship.

Invited by DPIRD, our team has been sharing insights into modern fish screen technology and its role in protecting native fish populations while supporting the efficient operation of water diversion infrastructure.

The conference has provided a valuable platform to engage with growers, water authorities, researchers, and industry stakeholders on practical solutions that balance agricultural productivity with environmental responsibility.

We thank DPIRD for the invitation and look forward to continuing these conversations beyond the event.

The Cohuna Irrigation Diversion Screen Project was Australia's first conical fish exclusion screen project, designed to protect native fish populations while maintaining reliable irrigation supply.

With the irrigation season currently in its winter downtime, the screens have been dewatered, providing the ideal opportunity to review the infrastructure.

Eight years since the install, this inspection highlighted the durability and robustness of the design, with the screens continuing to demonstrate the performance expected from a high-quality modern fish screen solution.

We're proud to see this Australian-first infrastructure continuing to deliver environmental benefits and operational reliability for the local community.

For Fiona, being part of such a diverse team and having the opportunity to support others wherever possible is what makes each day meaningful. Her role within the administration team is built on collaboration, shared knowledge and helping the team succeed.

When asked what she values most about working at AWMA, the answer was simple: communication and teamwork.

It's these everyday connections and the willingness to work together that help make AWMA a great place to be.

Thank you Fiona for your positive attitude, team-first mindset and the support you bring to those around you.
