CNC Profiling Operator – Cloncurry. No experience needed.

GNH Engineering is hiring a CNC Profiling Operator to start January 2027. We train you on the job.

You'll run our CNC plasma cutter (Farley Phoenix, Hypertherm HPR130XD) and CNC waterjet (OMAX MAXIEM 1530). The plasma cuts steel plate and the waterjet cuts just about anything from steel, aluminium, stainless, rubber to plastics for mines and industry across North West Queensland.

The role:
- Load material onto the tables with forklifts and other lifting devices
- Run the cutting programs
- Dimensional checks on parts
- Changing consumables and completing basic maintenance tasks
- Keeping the cutting bay in order

It's hands-on work in a fabrication shop you'll be on your feet but it's a skilled role on modern equipment.

Why now: our operator is leaving town at Christmas after mutliple years running these machines. We're hiring early so we can find the right person to fill this role

This is a permanent position on a Monday to Friday basis

Recent platework package out the door for a mine site upgrade project. Consisting of multiple tanks, hoppers, pipe spools, and minor structural components.

GNH scope covered the lot:
• Shop Detailing
• Fabrication
• Surface protection
• Rubber lining

The storage tank called for an internal 2000µm ultra high build epoxy application, with the remaining tanks and pipes 6mm rubber lined.

Every stage completed in-house by our locally based team at GNH Engineering from drawings through to final lining, all under one roof in Cloncurry.

When a client's overhead crane went out of service, every day counted.

GNH Engineering responded with a full-service scope - 3D laser scanning, reverse engineering, procurement, fabrication, and blast & paint all delivered inside a tight 2-week window.

The replacement runway support beams were 1200WB342 sections. With nothing available off the shelf, our team fabricated them in-house from plate.

All scope under one roof. That's the advantage of our local turn key capabilities at GNH Engineering

Another shutdown ticked off the list, our major project for this client was a replacement storage tank. This one was turned around in a short window of 5 weeks from PO.

With the old tank having been in service for 20+ years the original drawings were barely legible or reliable we 3D Laser Scanned the existing install and completed workshop detailing based off the captured data.

Our full scope of works included:
- Laser Scan Existing Tank
- Model & Workshop Detailing from Scan Data
- Sectional & Plate Rolling (All Shell, Roof, Angle Sections Formed in Our Workshop)
- Fabrication of all Steelwork incl (Tank, Platform, Grating, etc..)
- Surface Protection
- Hydro Testing
- Insulatation Supply & Install
- Cladding Supply & Install
- Delivery To Site

A project completed for a recent shutdown was a Primary Cyclone Underflow Launder

GNH Engineering took this project from conception to completion, with our scope of work including:
- Laser Scan In-Situ Underflow Launder
- Reverse Engineer & Complete Workshop Detail Drawings
- Fabrication including Plate Rolling & Stud Welding of all components
- Surface Protection
- Rubber Lining using 12mm Reglin Premium Rubber
- Installation of client supplied bolt in wear package

Whole package taken from start to finish from raw materials in our Cloncurry workshop
