Yesterday we attended the Chinchilla Careers Expo to connect with Teachers, students and industry to promote future jobs for students, greater opportunities for work experience and to showcase some of the technologies available within the Western Downs Region.

Recently our Managing Director, Lachlan partnered with the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water and Makers Empire to explore the world of advanced manufacturing with teachers in the Western Downs.

This initiative hopes to widen the depth of knowledge available to the region within the design process, 3d printing, problem solving and innovation areas. The program has also seen 3d printers placed within schools in the region to open opportunities for a more hands on learning experience which fosters the development of the primary skill areas.

Topics from the day included the design process,materials, use cases for 3d printing, how to use a 3d printer, human centred design principles and more.

We look forward to the future development of the program and hope opportunities like this open further doors to students and teachers.
