There’s experience, personality, family, friendship, a fair bit of caffeine… and in Nick’s case, oat milk. 😏
Meet the people who keep AMC rolling.
NICK | THE METALHEAD 🌱🤘
Our resident vegan, metalhead, boutique b**r enthusiast and one seriously good section curver.
Nick has been part of the AMC family for 15 years, rolling the magic on the Roundo R9 and becoming one of the people we know we can throw the hard jobs at.
Nothing is ever too hard , it just needs figuring out.
A keeper of the craft, carrier of the AMC legacy and an all-round legend of the workshop.
JEFF | THE TOOLMAKER 🛠️
Fitter and turner. Problem solver. Maker of the things that don’t exist yet.
Jeff creates custom tooling and solutions for section curving that don’t just meet the bar, it raises it.
His connection to AMC goes back much further than the workshop floor. Jeff taught Luke to drive, and the friendship between them has grown into something that feels much more like family.
A lot of knowledge, plenty of stories, and a very special part of the AMC crew.
WARREN | THE BUSY BEE 🐝
Methodical. Steadfast. Personality plus.
Warren is physically incapable of standing around wondering what to do next. 😂 If there’s a job to finish, something to organise, a machine to tend to or a younger crew member who could learn something, Warren is already onto it.
He works hard, keeps the workshop humming and genuinely cares about training and encouraging the next generation.
When he’s not busy in the workshop, there’s a fair chance he’s thinking about motorbikes. And come Friday afternoon, Warren and Jeff have been known to enjoy a leisurely ride in pursuit of one of life’s simple pleasures: an honest meat pie. 🏍️🥧
Every workshop needs a Warren.
JOHN | THE “CASUAL” 😉
Casual by employment status. Essential by every other measure.
John might technically be our casual, but there’s nothing casual about the value he brings to AMC. Capable and always ready to jump in wherever he’s needed, he’s become a genuinely important part of the crew.
ELIJAH | THIRD GENERATION 🔥
The next Shepherd-Ashby is officially on the workshop floor.
Luke’s son. Ken’s grandson. Ken’s doppelgänger.
Elijah inherited more than the family resemblance, including Ken’s legendary sweet tooth and his fascination with section curving.
He’s learning the craft from his dad, carrying forward what his grandad started, and building the skills to become the third generation of specialist section curvers in the Shepherd-Ashby family.
The legacy continues. ❤️
LUKE + CHRISTINE | THE DYNAMIC DUO ⚙️✨
AMC might have been built by Ken, but Luke and Christine have taken the reins and are confidently rolling it into its next chapter, growing the business while holding tightly to the values, knowledge and relationships it was built on.
Luke has an extraordinary depth of practical knowledge in section curving, a specialised discipline understood at this level by very few people in Australia. He doesn’t just know how to curve metal; he understands how material, tooling, radius, orientation and application all come together to find solutions others often can’t.
And then there’s Christine, the multi-tasking, multi-hat-wearing glue behind the business. Quoting, planning, customers, accounts, marketing, coordination, problem solving… if it isn’t physically rolling the steel, there’s a fair chance she’s involved somewhere. 💎
Together, they’re strengthening AMC’s roots while pushing it to new heights , honouring the legacy, developing the next generation and making sure the business Ken started keeps evolving.
RAGNAR | THE RESIDENT RASCAL 🐾
AMC’s resident four-legged workshop supervisor and Luke’s ever-present offsider.
Ragnar takes his responsibilities very seriously, especially looking cute, checking in on everyone and making sure nobody gets through the workshop without a proper greeting.
Equal parts of mischief, loyalty and great morale, he’s the four-legged member of the crew who keeps spirits high and never misses a chance to be right in the middle of the action.
