A bit of a reset.

Over the past couple of years, I stepped back from the business side of things and focused more on the work itself. That led to shifting everything under my own name for a while.

With the move into more commercial work recently, it felt right to bring it back under Jalmer Wrought Iron - which we started back in 2001.

It’s still the same hands, same approach, same materials - just getting everything now lined up.

We’ve also put together a new site with a mix of past and recent work (its a work in progress, so more to come soon):

The start of the year is when ideas take shape.

Wayne is currently working on new large-scale pieces - including sculptural trees and public artworks that bring together hundreds (sometimes thousands) of individual steel elements.

These works aren’t rushed.
They’re built slowly, deliberately - a reminder that meaningful things take time.

If you’re planning a project for a public space, private estate, or landmark installation, now is the moment to begin the conversation.

places slow you down in the best possible way.

This week, Wayne’s work is part of the story at , nestled in the forests of Walpole - a place where nature, art, and quiet moments meet.

Handcrafted from recycled steel, these pieces are often chosen as lasting gifts — to mark milestones, honour memories, or simply to bring something meaningful into everyday life.

They feel especially at home here, surrounded by old trees, fresh air, and time to pause.

If you’re travelling south, or dreaming of gifting something with depth and story, this is a beautiful place to discover the work in person.

Summer is when we can really enjoy our outdoor spaces.

Longer days, warm evenings and more time spent entertaining outdoors.

Wayne’s work is often created for gardens, courtyards, and entryways - places where art becomes can be functional such as a gate or birdbath, as well as wall art that creates a mood.

Each piece is handcrafted from recycled steel, designed to sit naturally in the landscape and quietly tell a story about place, texture, and time.

This season is about grounding, connection, and beauty that lasts.

✨ Commissions now open for 2026 installations. Let's have a chat about your next creation.

A story in every piece.

This is the beginning of a tree.
Right now, just the trunk - but it’s already holding thousands of small decisions, cuts and welds.

When finished, it will become a 5m x 4m eucalyptus canopy, home to my signature blue wrens, built entirely from recycled steel.

Countless fragments - like a mosaic - brought together to create something alive.

Piece by piece. Perfect in its imperfection.

What was once discarded becomes something magical.

Still a work in progress. Soon to be a public artwork enjoyed by all.

Watch this space for the installation pictures!

This artwork was inspired by the African savannah with different scenes as cutouts for the top of a fence. It gives privacy and something very unique.

We love it when clients send through pictures of their artworks and how pleased they are with the result.

I'm sure the birdbath will be venturing outside soon for the birds to enjoy, but it's great to see the blue wren and eucalyptus artwork fit so beautifully with the New Leaf Gallery table.

They also included the mosaic recycled steel bowl into their new bathroom cabinetry (also by the talented New Leaf team).
