WML is doing the geotechnical investigation for the Green Steel Mine in Collie. Our focus is to explore potential opportunities and eliminate geotechnical risk through precise investigation and analysis to ensure that the right geotechnical design parameters are selected to allow for a safe and cost effective design.

This is an important step in understanding the ground conditions so that we can design the foundations to support the 11,000 tonnes of equipment soon to be installed.

On Friday, our Geotechnical and Pavements team attended the AGS Western Australian Symposium. They spent the day listening to keynote speakers Mr. Hugo Acosta-Martinez, Professor Britta Bienen and Dr. David Reid discuss their time in the geotechnical engineering sector.

They explored past, ongoing and future geotechnical projects, engaged with other professionals in the industry and discussed new ideas to help drive geotechnical engineering towards a sustainable future.

Thank you to the Australian Geomechanics Society and Engineers Australia for putting on another great symposium. We look forward to the next one in 2024!

Congratulations to Plantagenet Sheds & Steel & Construction Group on winning an MBA award for the Mt Barker Boardwalk, Tower Road.

WML completed the structural design and geometry for this project. Our design carefully located footings to suit the existing rock features, vegetation and other environmental considerations. This meant that every post was uniquely designed for the precise location and relied upon a quality survey. The design also considered transportation, cranage and constructability that allowed the build to proceed with minimal environmental impact.

It’s been a busy few months for the Bunbury and Perth office!

With a mix of nostalgia and excitement, after 22 fantastic years at the iconic old Railway Institute building in Bunbury, we have outgrown it! Our time at the old Railway Institute has been filled with amazing memories and growth but it is time for us to continue our journey at a bigger location.

📍 The new Bunbury office location: First Floor, 25A Stephen Street, Bunbury.

And if one office move wasn’t enough, we backed it up with a second move shortly after for the team in Perth. Since opening the Perth office in 2019, we quickly outgrew it and had to find a bigger place.

📍 The new Perth office location: Level 2, 91 Havelock Street, West Perth.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our two new office locations!

We weren’t game enough to make it 3 for 3 so the Kalgoorlie team is still at the same location on Brookman Street.

On November 9, our CEO Steve Woodhouse and Principal Geotechnical Engineer Ting Zhang, attended the 50th anniversary of the Australia - China Relations at the Crown Hotel Ballroom.

Hosted by the CCCA Perth Branch Australia-China Business Council Western Australia Chapter (ACBC WA) it was a night attended by nearly 500 guests including Minister Sun Yong of the Chinese Embassy in Australia, Consul General Long Dingbin of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China and Governor of Western Australia Mark McGowan.

The night brought together a variety of people for various awards, great speeches and fantastic performances.
