What an exciting time at Allen Sailing! We would like to thank Liz and Graham for all they have contributed to the journey we have taken together over this past decade. What a journey it has been for both Allen and DeckHardware.
We are excited to work with the next Generation at Allen and are looking forward to working with Richard and catching up in person at METS this year. We have fantastic memories of our early days distributing the brand working with Kim Allen and our time together in person. Mel has also shared in our office some lovely words Lindsay had to say to her at a dinner when Mel visited the factory.
We are so proud to distribute Allen and to have played a part in their growth and look forward to what the future holds.
Allen Brothers enters its third generation of family ownership.
We’re pleased to announce that Richard Allen has taken over as Managing Director of Allen Brothers (Fittings) Ltd.
Richard represents the third generation of the Allen family to lead the company, following his grandfather Glenn Allen, who founded Allen Brothers with his brother Tony in 1956, and his father Kim Allen, who sadly passed away in 2015.
Richard’s mother, Lindsay Allen, will remain with the company as Director.
The change follows the retirement of Liz Adams, who has stepped down as Managing Director after many years leading the company, and Graham Adams, who has retired from his role as International Sales Manager.
We would like to thank Liz and Graham for their contribution to Allen Brothers and for the work they have done in helping build the company into the international business it is today.
Richard will continue the company’s focus on engineering, manufacturing and developing high-performance sailing hardware from our factory in Southminster, Essex.
“My grandfather started the company by making fittings for his own race boats, and that approach of solving problems and making better hardware is still very much part of what we do today.
“We want to continue where he left off, investing in engineering, manufacturing and product development to produce the best performance sailing hardware we can.”
The company remains family owned and continues to manufacture in the UK.
Three generations. One family. Still making performance sailing hardware in Southminster.
