Today is Red Apple Day 🍎, Bowel Cancer Australia’s annual Giving Day raising awareness and support for Australians affected by bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia, but early detection can save lives.

Knowing the signs, staying up to date with screening and having open conversations about gut health are all incredibly important.

Today is a great opportunity to support awareness, encourage loved ones to complete screening tests, and help break the stigma around bowel health conversations. ❤️

June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), a global day raising awareness of the abuse, mistreatment and neglect experienced by older people.

Elder abuse can take many forms including financial, emotional, psychological, physical or social abuse, as well as neglect. Sadly, it is often carried out by someone the older person knows and trusts.

This year’s message encourages us to ‘change the conversation about ageing’ by promoting dignity, respect, inclusion and safety for older Australians.

At Balance Mobility, we believe every older person deserves to feel valued, heard, supported and empowered to live with independence and dignity.

By learning the signs, speaking up, and supporting older people in our communities, we can all help create safer and more compassionate environments for ageing Australians.

Social connection plays a vital role in supporting people living with dementia.

Regular interaction with family, friends, carers and the broader community can help reduce feelings of loneliness, anxiety and isolation.

Even simple moments like sharing a conversation, listening to music or enjoying a cup of coffee together can provide comfort and connection for those living with dementia.

Socialising also helps people feel valued and included, which can have a big impact on emotional wellbeing and confidence.

Meaningful connection doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the smallest interactions create the biggest moments.

Dementia affects more than memory. It can impact communication, mobility, confidence, independence and everyday routines. This impact is felt not only by the person living with dementia, but their family, carers and support network.

Simple daily tasks can become overwhelming, and many people may begin to withdraw socially as their condition progresses. That’s why creating supportive environments and maintaining connection is so important.

At Balance Mobility, we support many clients living with dementia by helping them stay safe, mobile, connected and comfortable at home and in the community.

The right mobility equipment and home support solutions can make a meaningful difference to independence and quality of life.

Because everyone deserves to feel included, supported and empowered to keep participating in the moments that matter most.

Today is World Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Day, which aims to raise awareness, share lived experiences and strengthen understanding of multiple sclerosis (MS).

MS is a neurological condition that affects millions of people around the world.

At Balance Mobility, we see firsthand how MS can impact movement, independence and daily life.

World MS Day is an important reminder that:

🔷 Early understanding and diagnosis can make a meaningful difference.
🔷 Access to the right supports and equipment can help maintain independence.
🔷 No one navigating MS should feel alone in their journey.

We’re proud to support awareness days like this because they align with what we care deeply about: helping people stay mobile, connected and empowered in their everyday lives.

By listening, learning, and supporting one another, we can help create a more inclusive and informed community for everyone living with MS.
