ABOUT THE POSITIONS
Steelwork Bendigo Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Structural Steel Installers and Rigger/Welders to join our growing team. We have multiple full-time positions available with immediate start for the right candidates.
A 3-month trial contract applies to all positions. Training is available for suitably experienced applicants who may be lacking some of the desired qualifications.

KEY DUTIES
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Installation of structural steel and metalwork items on domestic, commercial, and industrial construction sites
• On-site modifications of steel structures
• Maintenance and repairs of existing steel structures
• Site welding
• Fabrication and labouring in the factory between site jobs

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must hold or be able to obtain:
• Current High Risk Construction Induction (White Card)
• High Risk Basic Rigging certificate (Intermediate Rigging preferred; Dogman will be considered)
• Scissor Lift competency
• High Risk Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certificate
• Working at Heights certificate
• Qualified Boilermaker OR experienced Second Class Welder (applicants without welding experience will be considered)
• Working with Children Check or ability to procure
• High Risk Forklift licence
• Full Victorian manual driver’s licence
• Functioning mobile phone
• Ability to pass a police check

WORKING CONDITIONS
Roster:
Monday to Friday with fortnightly RDO in line with CFMEU on-site calendar (note: we do not have a CFMEU EBA).
Hours: - Minimum 8-hour day / 40-hour week on site (exclusive of travel) expected - Overtime starts after 7.6 hours each day - Overtime and long days are a regular occurrence and are expected - All work starts and ends at our Epsom factory each day
Work Locations:
Mixed locations, generally within the Greater Bendigo Region. Some positions may involve travel or living away from home.
• Travel of up to 2 hours each way daily is not unusual
• Stay away jobs are usually within 4 hours travel from Bendigo (home on weekends)
• Stay away jobs are less frequent

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
We offer competitive rates and excellent benefits:
Pay Rates: - Competitive hourly rates negotiable depending on experience and qualifications - Overtime rates paid for all overtime work (no flat rates) - Site allowance: $4.00 per hour on all site work (paid on site hours, excluded on travel)
Travel Compensation: - Travel both ways is paid - Travel done in overtime is paid at time and a half
Stay Away Allowances: - Generous living away from home allowances - $215 - $260 per night away depending on location (Regional or Metro)
Career Progression: - Leading hand positions potentially available - Leading hand allowance: $5.00 per hour regardless of crew size (usually 2-3 people), paid on site hours, excluded on travel - Daily phone allowance: $2.50 for leading hand roles

Company Supplied: - Work vehicles - Power tools
Employee Supplied: - Basic hand tools - Rigging tools - Welding helmet
Tool Policy: - No tool allowance paid - Broken or worn-out tools: return to management for replacement - Lost tools and welding helmets are not covered
