Peristaltic pumps are used in tough applications because they can handle abrasive slurries, corrosive chemicals, viscous fluids, and shear-sensitive products.

But pump performance often comes down to one critical part: the hose or tube. As the main wear component, the wrong material can lead to early failure, more changeouts, and unplanned downtime.

Our latest blog covers what maintenance teams need to know when selecting Verderflex hose and tubing materials for peristaltic pumps.

When you buy a pump, you’re not just thinking about the upfront cost. You’re thinking about how long it will last, how often it will break down, and how much time you’ll spend fixing it.

That’s exactly why MTBF matters. It is a measure of reliability.

In our latest blog, we break down the biggest factors affecting pump MTBF, and what can be done to improve reliability across your operation.

If your pump system is showing signs of wear or repeated issues, contact the Global Pumps team.

Our workshop sees all sorts of pumps come through the door for repair from major brands in the pumping industry.

In many cases, a repair is all that’s needed to get the pump running again. But sometimes, the damage, cost or downtime means a new pump may be the better long-term option.

Not sure which way to go? Based on our years of experience in the industry, we’ve covered the questions customers often ask, including:

- When should you repair a pump instead of replacing it?
- What common pump issues can be fixed with spare parts?
- Do you still have the option to repair, or are you forced to replace?

When it comes to peristaltic pumps, it’s common to assume there is only one type: the hose pump.

However, peristaltic pump technology includes both hose pumps and tube pumps.

The right choice depends on the operating conditions, the type of fluid being pumped, and maintenance preferences.

Peristaltic pump technology has earned a strong reputation across the mining, chemical, and food industries. If you have a tough pumping challenge, contact Global Pumps.

If you work in mining, you’ve probably asked yourself what pump actually handles thick slurries well and is also easy to maintain.

From what we’ve seen, peristaltic pumps are one of the better options.

They handle abrasive and high-solid fluids, and the design keeps things simple. No seals, can run dry, and only one wear part (the hose).

Take a look at this video where our team is building the largest unit in our peristaltic range for a mining customer.
