THIS EASTER LONG WEEKEND: The Bungendore Campdraft Easter event will feature Australia’s inaugural veteran exhibition campdraft, hosted in partnership with Remount.

This exciting new event will see participation from members of the Remount team as well as veterans and first responders who have attended Remount programs, showcasing their horsemanship skills in a meaningful and competitive setting.

Remount, which has been operating since 2016, provides therapeutic horsemanship programs for veterans and first responders. Since its inception, Remount has helped over 500 individuals by fostering a connection between people and horses, encouraging healing, skill-building, and camaraderie in a supportive environment.

The veteran exhibition campdraft will be a celebration of skill, teamwork, and perseverance, honouring the veterans and first responders who have served and sacrificed for our country. It marks an important milestone in recognising the therapeutic power of horsemanship and the strength of our veteran and first responder communities.

Entry is free for spectators, and if you’re looking for something to do this weekend you can show your support for the Veterans who have completed the Remount program.

HMAS Sydney has departed Darwin for Indo-Pacific mission to participate in Exercise Bersama Shield alongside our Five Power Defence Arrangements partner nations Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom. This follows HMAS Hobart's completion of the ADF's first Regional Presence Deployment for 2025, conducting a range of maritime activities in the Indo-Pacific region during its six-week deployment.

HMAS Hobart participated in multilateral training including the Indonesian-led Exercise Komodo 25, the French-led Exercise La Perouse 25, and a Maritime Cooperative Activity with Japan, the Philippines the United States.

The three Hobart class Guided Missile Destroyers are Australia's most lethal and capable warships. Each ship has 48 VLS cells and are equipped with the Naval Strike Missile, which is a key capability for the lethality enhancement and survivability of our ships and enables our ability to hold an adversary at risk at greater range.

They are also equipped with the Standard Missile 6, acquired from the US, and provide the Royal Australian Navy with extended range air defence against air and missile threats, an offensive anti-ship capability, and for the first time, a terminal ballistic missile defence capability.

The Hobart-class destroyers are undergoing a significant upgrade to their combat management system, including transitioning to a new Aegis baseline and replacing the current Australian Tactical Interface.

We are proud to be the Design Authority for these ships and to be delivering engineering design services to them through life. The AWD build program is Australia's most successful shipbuilding program to date and the benefits of this national achievement are only just beginning to be realised.

We are always delighted when we get a visit from the wonderful OPK9 team and one of their PTSD assistance dogs. This week our team at our Darling Park office had the opportunity to meet Everest, a canine in training.
We are proud to be a supporter of the amazing OPK9 program and thank them for the work they do for our Veteran community.
