Project Spotlight: Round Head Erosion Protection
Round Head, on the western shore of the Gippsland Lakes, is a culturally significant site for the Gunaikurnai people,
containing ancestral middens and ceremonial places dating back thousands of years. Increasing erosion, driven
by wave exposure, boat wake, vegetation loss, and altered lake dynamics, has placed these heritage areas at risk,
with previous revegetation efforts proving ineffective.
In partnership with GLaWAC and Carter Marine Group,
Anchor Products delivered a low impact shoreline protection system using PVC sheet piling and FRP retaining
structures designed to stabilise the coast without permanent concrete works.
