Additional post on the turbo converted falcon drift car that I’ve undertaken a lot of work on

In this post the following was completed

-Mounted the lift pump ✅
- Modified the exisiting hard line to an-6 ✅
- Plumbed up the fuel fuel system front to back including the surge tank and aftermarket fuel pressure reg ✅
- Tapped the turbo oil feed to accept a Bosch pressure and temperature sensor ✅
- Made up a mounting plate for the Haltech gear ✅
- Tefzel twin thermo fan harness made and installed ✅
- Mounted a junction block in the engine bay for the power ✅
- Mounted a junction block in the boot for power ✅
- Wired in the electric power steering pump and fan for the cooler ✅
- Tefzel loom for the lift and feed pumps ✅
- First service completed and filter inspected ✅
- Battery relocation completed and wired in ✅
- Gearbox serviced ✅
- Power steering system bled and inspected for leaks ✅
- Bled clutch system ✅
- Bled braking system ✅
- Inspected diff level ✅
- Loaded base map and configured all sensors and wiring as per my layout ✅
- First start up and run completed ready for a tune ✅

Post one of a few to come is this turbo converted falcon drift car that I’ve undertaken a lot of work on

In this first post the following was completed

-Custom engine harness with a Haltech flying lead loom ✅
- Sub injector, coilpack and vct harness ✅
- Astra power steering pump and cooler bracket made to relocated under the vehicle with access through the back door ✅
- High pressure line made and low pressure return plumbed up ✅
- Fuel pressure reg mounted onto the rail for a less cluttered bay ✅
- Injectors and fuel rail installed ✅

Watch out for a couple more posts over the next few days for additional work completed

With a few issues arising on the dyno, we took the time to go over a few things and get it that little bit closer to being 100%. This beast is now about 80/85% the way there with just a few things that I’d like to re do.

Spark plug leads were routed under the manifolds causing them to melt through so relocated the coil packs and used appropriate leads to give the correct air gap to the manifold

Better condition clutch installed with machined flywheel and new arp hardware (new clutch plates ordered)

New air filter fitted up

Dyno tune completed

First track test was pretty much a success minus a couple small issues that we were able to get around at the track

After tune / run in check over and head stud retorque.
You’d be crazy to not take this step as a safety measure.
It’s recommended to do and you’d be surprised by how much they take to get them back up to torque after its first heat cycle

R32 in for quite a lot of work. This is no small job and a lot of steps are being taken to ensure this skyline gets returned to a high standard for many more years of usage

- Full report and list of repairs written up to get it off defect
- Talks with the customer for all the additional work that will be getting done once the defect is cleared
- Talks with the engineer that will be complying it once roadworthy and custom work has been completed

That’s only the start for this car, you’ll have to stay tuned to see what’s in store 😉

Few more jobs ticked off the list on Jamie’s S15.3 today

- Wideband looms have been secured to keep them away from the manifolds
- Heim joints in the rear end changed out to ensure everything is nice and tight
- Gearbox harness mount to ensure the loom cannot come into contact with the tailshaft and exhaust
- Genuine brake and clutch switches
- Custom clutch switch mount
- Tefzel and raychem DR25 sub harnesses made up to go from the sensors to the custom body loom
- Engine ran up and cooling system bled
- Inspected and noted leaks that required attention for the tune booked on Friday
