“For us, this isn’t a box to tick, it’s about genuine relationships and building authentic partnerships to create meaningful, lasting impact.”

In two of the Northern Territory’s most remote communities, Engawala and Atitjere, students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on STEM learning through the Beacon First Nations STEM education program.

The Beacon program brings practical, immersive learning into classrooms, sparking curiosity and building interest in STEM for students who might not otherwise have access.

This National Reconciliation Week, we reaffirm our commitment to our Reconciliation Action Plan driving lasting impact through programs like Beacon, every day.

Daughters Day, in partnership with AMWU - Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union, is part of our ongoing work to show girls what’s possible in skilled trades.

Recently, some of our trades workers proudly brought their daughters to the Osborne shipyard, where they got hands-on with the tools, toured the site and experienced shipbuilding up close.

There’s many pathways into the trades, and we hope days like this spark ✨ confidence and curiosity about future careers in shipbuilding and beyond.

Know someone who could benefit from initiatives like this? Share this post and help spread the word.

Destroyer Enterprise receives distinguished CASG Engineering and Technical award 🏆⚓

Australia’s frontline Hobart class destroyers now have enhanced naval strike capabilities thanks to outstanding efforts from the Destroyer Enterprise, which includes members from our Garden Island team in Sydney.

The new strike capabilities — Naval Strike Missile, Tomahawk Cruise Missile and Standard Missile 6 systems — met a rigorous timeline going from preliminary design to installation to successful onboard test firings in rapid succession.

Increasing lethality across the Hobart class, the achievement represents a significant uplift in capability and a major milestone for . 🚀

The Destroyer Enterprise has won the Gold Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) Group Commendation – Sustainment Team of the Year award for this incredible body of work. Congratulations to our team and our enterprise partners! 🎉🥳🎊

As the Capability Lifecycle Manager for the Hobart class, and as part of the broader Destroyer Enterprise, we deliver sustainment services ensuring these ships remain mission ready and capable when it matters most.

Keynote speakers included Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, Premier Peter Malinauskas and panels including our Chief Executive Officer Craig Lockhart, young employees from our business, Babcock Australia & New Zealand and ASC as well as four World War II veterans each of them aged over 100 years.

Nearby more than $30bn is being invested into building the world’s most advanced nuclear-powered submarine shipyard at Osborne, where BAE Systems and ASC will jointly build SSN-AUKUS submarines.

HMAS Hobart's upgrade firing on all cylinders reaching two major milestones… 🏁…

✅ 20% Production completed – Since the ship’s arrival, this work has progressed at pace and passing this point has accumulated in more than 220,000 Production hours reached. 🛠️

✅ CIC Foundation completed – With the Combat Information Centre dismantled, all new major foundations and equipment mounting points have been tacked, welded and painted. This paves the way for the new, cutting-edge technology to be installed. 🚢

The Destroyer Capability Enhancement program is future proofing HMAS Hobart with new state-of-the-art technology, integration of a Tomahawk cruise missile system and an upgraded Aegis combat system.

With a history constructing the Hobart class destroyers, two Arafura class offshore patrol vessels and (currently) the Hunter class frigates, the Osborne Naval Shipyard is also gaining new capabilities through the upgrade/sustainment program. These advancements reinforce the site’s reputation as one of the key locations for Australia’s Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Enterprise. 💪⚓
