Williams Metal Fabrications

Williams Metal Fabrications We specialise in custom metal fabrication. We love tricky projects and we always over-deliver.

Based in South Australia and family-owned and operated, our team has grown but also includes many who have been with us since we started in 1998. Our people are some of the best in the industry, including boiler makers, welders and riggers. Many also have elevated work platform licenses, crane licenses and boat licenses. Our services are broad, but always focus on one thing: going over and above f

or our clients. That may mean creating a design solution to a complex problem, or sending our people to a remote location to fix a problem.

We are proud to be contributing to the T2D project through specialist welding work on the main cutterheads of the three Tunnel Boring Machines used to construct the new tunnels.

A special mention to Sam, one of our skilled welders, who features in the third photo below!

Our shed installation team recently completed the installation of this 440m² Olympic Industries shed for Fulton Hogan at Dry Creek.

Designed to support day-to-day operations, the structure required additional planning and coordination, with an internal partition wall creating two dedicated functional areas - one for plant and equipment storage, and the other operating as a wash bay area.

See more info and photos on the Project section of our website:

This project saw the Williams Metal Fabrications team install a new 440m² shed (22m x 20m x 6m high) supplied by Olympic Industries for Fulton Hogan at Dry Creek,

A big thank you to Melinda Wales (QHSE Manager) and Will Smith (QHSE Assistant) for all their hard work leading Williams Metal Fabrications through our recent triennial ISO recertification audit across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Maintaining these certifications takes ongoing discipline, teamwork and commitment across the entire business - not just during audit week, but every day on the workshop floor, on-site and in the office.

Well done to Mel, Will and our broader team on another important milestone and continued commitment to quality, safety and environmental responsibility.

Our leadership team recently spent some time stepping away from day-to-day projects and into a session focused on understanding how we work together as a team.

A big thank you to Collette Ordish from Perks People Solutions for facilitating the workshop and guiding us through the Saville Work Roles framework.

The session gave the team some valuable insights into different communication styles, individual strengths, and how different approaches can complement each other. It also sparked some good discussions around collaboration, decision-making and understanding where different perspectives can strengthen outcomes for our team and our clients.

We also discovered that Josh Klaer (our Marine and Construction Manager) is our top 'innovator', which has earned him a new nickname of Isaac Newton (we refuse to add the 'Sir' - it will go to his head)!

“Boys and their toys”… Director Stuart Rogers is certainly enjoying Australian Manufacturing Week in Brisbane!

Alongside thousands of others from the manufacturing sector, Stuart has been exploring the latest machinery, emerging technologies and innovative solutions shaping the future of advanced manufacturing in Australia.

It’s also been a great opportunity to hear from leading industry voices, connect with suppliers and peers, and see firsthand where the industry is heading.

Director Stuart Rogers is in Darwin this week attending the Northern Australia Defence Summit, part of NT Defence Week.

Bringing together Defence, government and industry, the summit focuses on the growing role of Northern Australia in national security and capability.

It’s a valuable opportunity to stay close to the conversations shaping the sector and continue building connections across the defence industry, supporting our ongoing involvement in defence projects.

Running a workshop like ours requires a significant amount of power, and it’s something we’re actively working to manage more responsibly.

A key step has been installing a 100kW solar system at our facility. It now covers a large share of our daytime electricity use and has reduced what our power costs would otherwise be by around 30–40%.

It’s a practical way we’re reducing our reliance on grid power and lowering our environmental impact as part of how we operate day to day.
