A look back at NoVacancy 2026 this September in Sydney.

It was a brilliant (and busy) couple of days for the Richard Jay and Symbio teams. We loved catching up with familiar faces and meeting people from throughout the hotel and accommodation industry.

Our stand showcased the latest commercial laundry equipment from LG Global and Electrolux Professional, along with Symbio’s chemicals and dispensing systems for laundry, food service, handcare and housekeeping.

In 2014, Orange Sky Australia's founders Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett launched the world’s first free mobile laundry service.

Richard Jay came on board as a founding partner, helping supply the machinery and dispensing systems for the very first van.

More than a decade on, Orange Sky is providing free laundry, warm showers and genuine connection in communities across Australia.

Their July update shows how far the service has come.

From April to June 2026, Orange Sky delivered 36,582 washes and 2,386 showers across 66 locations. Volunteers also shared more than 40,000 hours of conversation with people doing it tough.

That’s an incredible contribution from everyone involved.

Laundra Laundromat came to us with a simple brief: deliver the best performance with the lowest lifecycle cost.

Delivering that within a shop measuring just 4.3 metres wide meant making careful use of the available space.

So, we worked closely with Laundra at every step of the build, bringing the latest Electrolux Professional equipment and technology into a fitout designed for reliable, efficient operation – and lower long-term running costs.

The laundromat features washers and dryers in a range of capacities, plus dedicated machines for pet items.

With its warm finishes and day-spa-like feel, it’s a beautiful addition to the Silverdale Shopping Village.
