Enterprise is a modern, lightweight cargo ship on the Danube. By using special high-strength steel, the hull weight of the 110 meter long ship could be significantly reduced. It was built in 2018 at GS Yard B.V., Waterhuizen, Netherlands. The draft was reduced by installing two Volvo D 16 MH engines with 2x 750 HP and modified flow channels for propellers with a diameter of 1.3 meters. Single-engine ships use larger propeller diameters of 1.6 to 1.8 meters, so the draft is also higher and problematic at low water. Mondoluka Plus d.o.o. operates the bulk carrier with the ENI reference number 02337696. By optimizing the weight of the empty ship and the twin engines with a smaller propeller and modified draft, the tonnage could be increased to 2691 t, which is an excellent value for this class of ship, here sailing downstream near Tulln to the Greifenstein lock on the Danube River!
