The motor vessel Merlijn was built in 1930 by the shipyard Boot in Leiden, Netherlands and named ‚de Adelaar‘ (Eagle) as a cargo ship for bulk cargo. A new future for this ship was designed in 2001 when the previous owners Henk & Jantien bought the freighter and covered it into a river cruise ship Merlijn - the magic of water. With a length of 50 metres, it offers enough space and comfort for 28 guests in 14 cabins. The ship is often booked for a week’s holiday on the water in combination with individual cycling excursions. In August 2026, the old but very well-maintained ship with the registration ENI 03030887 was a guest on the Danube in Austria between Vienna and Passau. The MS Esprit is a river cruise ship—110 meters long and 11.4 meters wide—operated by the Swiss shipping company Scylla AG; it sails on the Danube, among other waterways. The 135-meter-long „A Rosa Flora“ was put into service in 2014, built at Neptun Werft GmbH, Warnemünde. Four engines with a total output of 1800 hp accelerate the ship to 22 km/h. The modern river cruise ship has space for 183 passengers: 83 outside cabins, 7 junior suites, 4 balcony suites, 2 family cabins ensure flexible use. The friendly external appearance is similar to that of the 13 sister ships in the A Rosa passenger ship fleet: the kissing mouth with the rose is a mark on the bow that is easy to market. Former names of the ship were Mozart, Tui Mozart, Dertour Mozart, Mozart and Crystal Mozart, the current owner is the Hamburg Seaside Hotel Collection.
