Team STARD Shows Strong Spirit in Qiddiya City
With the youngest driver line-up on the grid, the team showed determination and strong pace across three challenging race days in Saudi Arabia.
Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia – 11th of October 2025 – STARD showcased resilience and professionalism at the inaugural round of the FIA Extreme H World Cup in Qiddiya City, overcoming technical challenges and demonstrating steady progress throughout three demanding race days.
Final Race
Starting from P7, Patrick O‘ Donovan and Amanda Sorensen showed determination and strong race craft, steadily working their way through the field. After four consistent laps the team crossed the finish line as the third car overall, securing what initially appeared to be a podium result.
However, two penalties — for contact with a chevron and a waypoint flag, both incurred in the first stint — resulted in a 15-second time addition, which ultimately cost the team the third-place position. Despite the setback, the performance demonstrated the team’s pace, competitive potential, and fighting spirit during the first-ever FIA Extreme H World Cup event.
Across all three race days in Qiddiya City, STARD demonstrated perseverance, adaptability, and technical expertise in the face of challenges. From overcoming powertrain-related issues on Day 1 to securing a head-to-head victory on Day 2 and delivering a competitive showing in the Final Race, the team consistently proved its capability to fight back and perform under pressure. The event marked an important first step in the FIA Extreme H World Cup journey — showcasing STARD’s commitment to innovation, teamwork, and continuous progress in alternatively-powered motorsport.
