We came with a clear message: the technology to actively reverse atmospheric CO₂ levels already exists.

Frank Obrist took the floor to present our vision. The Modern Forest is our fully integrated, solar-powered production concept that captures CO₂ and water directly from the atmosphere with Direct Air Capture technology, then converts it into green methanol (Sub Zero® Methanol), and solid carbon, cSink®.

🔋 Sub Zero® Methanol is a climate-positive energy carrier: over its full lifecycle, it removes more CO₂ from the atmosphere than combustion releases upon use. cSink® is the solid carbon co-product, permanently removing CO₂ from the atmosphere.

We had substantive conversations with MEP Niels Flemming Hansen (European Parliament, EPP), with David B. Frank (Microsoft), and with Christian Holzleitner (Head of Unit, Land Economy and Carbon Removals, DG Clima, European Commission). Each conversation reinforced why this summit is the right room to be in.

Last year, we pushed boundaries across every front.

⚙️ We developed innovative projects for leading European automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers :

Cryogenic hydrogen pumps, R290 and R744 scroll compressors, Ultra-compact heat pump systems.

🏆 Our client, a major automotive Tier 1, won an Innovation Award with our technology. 👉 Becoming an Air eScroll Compressor technology leader.

💡 We identified an opportunity in the data center sector, addressing energy demand and efficiency. This led to the launch of a new business line focused on liquid and refrigerant-based cooling technology for data centers.
A closed-loop systems designed for GPU clusters and hyperscale facilities that can't afford to overheat.

But we didn't stop at engineering.

✅ We achieved the world's first climate-positive drive with our HyperHybrid® Powertrain prototype vehicle, powered by Sub Zero® Methanol fuel—a methanol-based energy carrier produced in our prototype plant in collaboration with technology partners ICODOS and UpCatalyst.

✅ We expanded our IP patent pool with 16 new patents registered across Europe and the USA.

✨ December Highlights: Bringing Climate-Positive Mobility to Political Decision-Makers

This month marked two significant moments in our mission to revolutionize sustainable transportation.

On December 5th, we had the privilege of presenting our hashtag technology to Dr. Saskia Ludwig, Member of the German Bundestag, in Berlin. During a test drive through the city in our methanol- powered hybrid converted Tesla, we demonstrated what sets this vehicle apart: it doesn't just achieve climate neutrality—it's officially reducing CO₂ with every kilometre.

👉 How? The hashtag fuel powering this vehicle captures more CO₂ from the atmosphere during production than it emits while driving. This technology proves that sustainable mobility can actually help reverse climate change.

We followed this with a presentation to Dr. Nicole Hoffman-Kraut, Minister of Economy of Baden-Württemberg, sharing our vision for scaling this technology.

🌍 These conversations with key decision-makers represent more than product demonstrations—they're steps toward sustainable mobility. The path from innovation to implementation requires both technological excellence and political will.

On October 14th, we turned a legendary route into a symbol of progress. Obrist Group, together with our visionary partners ICODOS and UP Catalyst, completed the first-ever climate-positive drive from Mannheim to Wiesloch.de.

Three vehicles powered by ®Methanol didn’t just travel - they actively removed CO₂ from the atmosphere, storing carbon and setting a new benchmark for sustainable mobility.

This historic journey was made possible by the support and presence of remarkable individuals:

- Christian Specht, Lord Mayor of Mannheim, who opened the event and sent us off with a powerful message about innovation for the region.
- Ludwig Sauer, Mayor of Wiesloch, who welcomed us at the world’s first filling station, connecting our achievement to automotive history.
- Notary Hagen Wolff, who officially certified the drive, underscoring its significance.
- Jutta and Dr. Adolf Suchy, owners of the historic Stadt-Apotheke Wiesloch, who shared this special moment at the birthplace of the filling station.
- Science journalist Jean Pütz, author Dr. Andrew Moore (Oxford University Press), and Roland Dittmeyer (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT)), whose expertise and support were invaluable.

We were joined by national TV crews and leading media outlets, whose coverage is helping to share our vision with the world.

Erwacht die EU? Methanol soll als globaler Energieträger der Zukunft in Betracht gezogen werden!

Vor rund 320 hochkarätigen Gästen fand am 19. Februar in der Vertretung des Freistaats Bayern bei in Brüssel die Veranstaltung „Wachstumsmotor Forschung & Innovation – Wie wir mit marktwirtschaftlichen Lösungen in Europa den Wohlstand sichern“ statt.

Nur wenige Stunden zuvor hatte die österreichische "Die Presse" getitelt: „So plant Europa sein Comeback als Wirtschaftsmacht“ (https://www.diepresse.com/19380273/so-plant-europa-sein-comeback-als-wirtschaftsmacht). Laut EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen leide Europas Industrie unter hohen Preisen, unfairem Wettbewerb und zu viel Regulierung. Künftig solle auf billigere Energie, mehr und mehr Geld gesetzt werden.

Nach einleitenden Worten von Michael Jäger (Präsident des Europäischen Steuerzahlerbundes, TAE) und Eric Beißwenger, MdL (Staatsminister für Europaangelegenheiten, Bayern) sowie einem Vortrag von Dr. Andreas Schwarz (Kabinettschef EU-Kommission für Start-ups, Forschung und Innovation) diskutierten Beißwenger, Schwarz, Niels Flemming Hansen, MdEP (Mitglied Ausschuss für Industrie, Forschung und Energie (ITRE), Europäisches Parlament, Vizepräsident SME Europe, Co-Vorsitzender SME Circle), OBRIST Group Gründer und Vorsitzender Frank Obrist und Dr. Richard Beyer (Wissenschaftlicher Direktor des European Institute for Public Finance (EIPF) auf dem Podium darüber, wie Europa seine Hashtag stärken kann und welche Rolle als Energiequelle dabei spielen kann.

Frank Obrist hatte in diesem Rahmen die Möglichkeit, unsere weltweit ersten (also Technologien) , , und vorzustellen und erhielt für seine Ausführungen tosenden Applaus. Er wies zudem darauf hin, dass sich Europa eine historische Chance biete, weltweit an allen zukünftigen Produktionsstätten für Sub-Zero-Methanol als Anker-Investor und damit Miteigentümer entscheidend beteiligt sein zu können. Eine Option mit bislang ungeahnten Möglichkeiten, da dadurch unbegrenzt günstigste erneuerbare Energie selbst produziert und nach Europa importiert werden kann.

„Damit kann Europa wieder zur Technologie- und Wirtschaftsmacht aufsteigen sowie Beschäftigung und Wohlstand in Europa steigern“, ergänzt Thorsten Rixmann, Chief Marketing Officer der OBRIST Group, der ebenfalls in Brüssel dabei war.

Moderiert wurde der spannende und informative Abend von Dr. Ralf Schneider (Präsident der Vereinigung Europäischer Journalisten (VEJ)).

Es war uns eine große Ehre, unsere bahnbrechende Technologie in diesem hochkarätigen Kreis erfolgreich präsentieren zu dürfen. Erstmals soll Methanol nun als globaler Energieträger ernsthaft in der politischen Diskussion in Betracht gezogen werden.
