Vessel retrofits should be planned in detail for the maximum benefit. Removing all the equipment and installing new ones may appear simple, but it can create operational complexities.

As the number of replacements increases, training requirements and the number of tests and certifications and the time vessel remains out of service increases.

A proud moment for our team and project partners.

FRISIAN FUTURE, the first vessel in the C311–318 series of eight hybrid-type short-sea cargo vessels for Boomsma Shipping, Netherlands, has been successfully delivered and handed over for active operations.

For this vessel, Maritronics supplied and successfully commissioned the complete navigation and communication package, helping support dependable operation at sea through integrated onboard systems.

We are pleased to have contributed to this milestone and congratulate everyone involved in bringing the project to this stage.

This year, the goal for World Day of Safety and Health is “Let's ensure a healthy psychosocial working environment.” With this theme, the International Labour Organisation aims to bring attention to how psychosocial factors like workload, clarity, and autonomy affect workers and their safety.

The maritime sector is one of the main industries where psychosocial factors can mean life or death. When sailors face huge workloads without sufficient rest, or information overload from the many systems on the bridge, or struggle to manage multiple crises at the same time, they tend to make mistakes.
