What is the global scale of postpartum perineal trauma?
Data indicate an average global vaginal delivery rate of 78.9% - almost 4 in 5 births *
That means an estimated 110m births are vaginal. And with perineal trauma including tearing and episiotomies affecting more than 85% of births, some 93.5m women will suffer these types of trauma each year.
