The Red Sea coast now has a hospital built for the future.

Al Mouwasat Hospital in Yanbu' has been constructed and successfully completed its soft opening, bringing 209 beds and 50 clinics to a region with growing demand for comprehensive healthcare.

The 39,691 sqm facility was designed with clinical performance and patient wellbeing at the centre of every decision, adapted from an earlier scheme developed for Riyadh and tailored to meet the specific operational needs of the Yanbu' site.

Services provided included site master planning, medical planning, full architectural and engineering design, medical equipment planning, kitchen services, and detailed BOQs and specifications.

An existing facility is being reimagined into something far greater.

Al Mouwasat Hospital in Jeddah is currently under construction, a 198-bed, high-performance doctors hospital taking shape across 42,000 sqm in the Hai Al-Safa district.

The project involved a comprehensive review of the existing design, with updates driven by new programming requirements and direct input from Mouwasat Medical Services' operational team. The design connected several plots into a single, cohesive clinical environment built to perform at the highest level.

Services provided included health planning, architecture, façade design, interior design, full MEP and structural engineering, medical equipment coordination, façade lighting, quantity surveying, and LOD 300 BIM modelling, with AJBE as sub-consultant.

Specialised care demands a space built for it.

Al Qateef Hospital is currently under construction, expanding to introduce a dedicated haematology centre of excellence as part of Al Mouwasat Medical Services' commitment to advancing specialised care in the Eastern Province.

The 18,400 sqm building rises across a basement, ground level, five upper floors and a penthouse, with over 11,500 sqm above grade. Connected to the existing hospital via a two-level bridge, the expansion adds 79 new beds and reinforces the hospital's capacity to deliver focused, high-quality care to the community.

Services provided included health planning, architecture, space programming, interior design, structural, electrical and mechanical engineering in collaboration with AJi, medical equipment loaded plans for MoH approval, LOD 300 BIM modelling, and coordination of façade lighting and landscape works.

HDP was in Japan this week, working closely with Toshiba Corporation, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, HKS, Inc. and Meissner Consulting to progress a highly specialised healthcare facility.

The sessions focused on technical coordination, equipment integration, constructability, safety and operational planning. This level of alignment at the design stage directly influences on-site performance and long-term clinical outcomes.
