ave to give off Particles, known as HIGGS BOSONS or the HIGGS PARTICLE (named after Peter Higgs who predicted them in 1964). The Higgs Boson would be extremely difficult to find, so it was only many years later that Experimental Technology became sophisticated enough to answer the question. While Several Theories in nature are Spontaneously Broken through a form of the Higgs Mechanism, in the context of the Standard Model the term HIGGS MECHANISM almost always means Symmetry Breaking of the ELECTROWEAK FIELD. It is considered proven, but the exact cause has been exceedingly difficult to prove. After 50 years of research, the existance of the Higgs Boson apparently proven in 2013 finally confirmed that the Standard Model is essentially correct and allow further development. Various analogies have also been invented to describe to describe the Higgs Field and Boson, including analogies with well known Symmetry Breaking Effects such as the Rainbow and Prism, Electric Fields, Ripples and resistance affecting some people moving through syrup or molasses. Analogies based on simple resistance to motion are accurate as the Higgs Field does not work by resisting motion."
