The Suurbraak Parkie project has kicked off to an encouraging start after having successfully planted 44 fence posts over four workdays, with the work being finished by the Suurbraak municipality as part of their 67 minutes for Mandela on the 18th of July.

The intention is to develop a portion of the more-than 2000 square meter area for a five-a-side playing field, with an outdoor gym, and two sets of playground equipment – for toddlers and children.

With the opening date looming ever closer, the project needs to shift into a higher gear.

A community volunteer has also stepped forward to develop a video for our crowdfunding campaign which will be launched later this month. We are however still looking for someone who can assist with the web design aspect of the campaign.

We also still need to source a few truck-loads of soil for the leveling of the 5-a-side pitch, however a community volunteer has stepped forward to oversee the landscaping aspect of the development and we kindly request that everyone with donations of trees and shrubs contact us via our page or the email below with a list of plants to be donated.

Suurbraak Parkie
