DigiGauge - Technical information
The DigiGauge is a standalone product that uses its own sensors and does not depend on the vehicle's ecu for sensor data. In this post we will be looking into sensor specifications and DigiGauge inputs.
Pressure sensors - DigiGauge 5v input
The DigiGauge uses a 3 wire linear 5v sensor with a range of 0.5 to 4.5v. This type of sensors are far more precise compared to resistance based pressure sensors often found in aftermarket oil pressure gauges. Our DigiGauge is supplied with a 150 psi (10.34 bar) sensors for oil and fuel pressure. Thread size 1/8" or 1/4" NPT.
DigiGauge input - 5v input
You can replace the supplied sensor with any 5v linear sensor with a 0.5v to 4.5v range, as you can calibrate the sensor on the display
Temperature sensors
The DigiGauge uses a off the self single wire temperature sensor, these are commonly found in older VW vehicles. The sensor has a range of -20 to 150 degrees celcius. Our DigiGauge is supplied with 2 temperature sensors for oil and water temperature.
Thread size 1/8"
You can use any NTC thermistor (resistance drops as temp rises) sensor and 2 pin sensors are also surppoted.
The temperature sensor inputs uses a 2.2kΩ pull-up resistor.
Sensor can be calibrated on the display.
MAP/Boost pressure sensor
The DigiGauge is fitted with a bulit-in 5 bar sensor, simply connect the vacuum pipe from the DigiGauge to your intake manifold.
Engine RPM
The DigiGauge can only accept a 5v square wave signal.
Battery voltage
The DigiGauge reads voltage from where the unit is powered from. There must be a minimum of 9v in order to power and operate the DigiGauge safely.
The DigiGauge is a 12v unit do not exceed 16v otherwise you will damage the unit.
Many people have requested a speed sensor(VSS) we are currently in development and it will be added in the future.
