Kuyper Electrical Services proudly served as the Electrical Consulting Engineers for this landmark project, providing comprehensive electrical engineering design, coordination, and construction supervision services. It is with great pride that we successfully signed off on the completed facility, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and operational requirements.

Project Scope
Medium Voltage (MV) network design with dual MV supply points.
Design and integration of:
1 × 2.5 MVA Transformer
1 × 2.0 MVA Transformer
1 × 630 kVA Transformer
Standby power system comprising 3 generators.
UPS systems for all critical and essential loads.
Power distribution design for industrial motors, autoclaves, boilers, and production equipment.
Busbar reticulation throughout the facility.
Distribution board design and specification.

Infrastructure & Services Design
MV cable design from the municipal substation, including BMK units and associated ancillary equipment.
Internal MV and LV distribution networks throughout the plant.
Cable routing layouts and containment systems.
Lighting design for production, warehouse, and external areas.
Communication, control, and data network design for machine integration and plant operations.
Security infrastructure design and integration.

Energy Management
Plant-wide metering solutions for monitoring energy consumption.
Power factor correction and harmonic filtering systems.
Load analysis and power quality management.

Additional Responsibilities
Engineering support for township rezoning requirements and utility approvals.
Design coordination for raw material, production, warehouse, and logistics facilities.
Contractor supervision and construction oversight during implementation.

Job description
We seek a skilled Draughtsman with strong expertise in Electrical Design and proficiency in Revit to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to various high-profile projects while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Create detailed electrical drawings and schematics using Revit / AutoCAD software.
* Assist in the design and documentation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
* Work closely with engineers and other team members to produce accurate and comprehensive design drawings.
* Modify and update electrical drawings based on feedback and revisions.
* Coordinate with various departments to ensure integration of electrical design with other building systems.
* Perform calculations, as needed, to support electrical design decisions.
* Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, building codes, and regulations.

Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Draughtsman or similar role, with a focus on Electrical Design.

* In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
* Excellent technical drawing and drafting skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work under tight deadlines.
* A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is desirable.

Desirable Skills:
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software.

MPHUMALANGA INTERNATIONAL FRESH PRODUCE MARKET, NELSPRUIT

The electrical engineering work for the Mpumalanga International Fresh Produce Market (MIFPM) project involved a comprehensive upgrade to the region's electrical infrastructure to support this large-scale development. Negotiations with the Mbombela City Council resulted in the construction of a Consumer Substation and an Intake Substation, with an 11kV power supply extended approximately 2,100 meters from the Riverside 3 substation. The infrastructure included the installation of 11kV overhead lines, including a railway crossing, and a horizontal road crossing of the R37 for cable installation.

The project also saw the installation of 11kV PILCSWA cables between the Consumer and Council Intake substations, ensuring a reliable electrical supply to the site. To enhance safety and visibility, LED street lighting was installed along the R37 in compliance with SANRAL specifications.

The electrical reticulation within the MIFPM facility serves 17 buildings, including a 33,000m² main building with 29 cold storage units, office spaces, a pedestrian bridge with offices, and additional amenities like gatehouses, taxi and bus ranks, waste management facilities, and ablution blocks.

The main building is powered by two 400kVA 3-phase UPS systems with SCADA interface for backup power, as well as two 2,000kVA SDMO generators with synchronization panels. The internal low voltage reticulation is managed through LV Busbars connecting to the main LV and ammonia refrigeration plant distribution boards. Power factor correction was also implemented to ensure efficient energy use across the facility.

The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art ammonia cooling technology, LED lighting, and well-equipped office spaces, supporting the modern, sustainable operations of the MIFPM.
