A Brief description of the company
The main aim of the company is to provide the client with a cost effective product which saves time and money by providing the client with an installation kit that consist of all the required components to complete an electrical installation. Our company consists of a dedicated design team as well as a manufacturing and dispatch plant to ens
ure that the client has total satisfaction when receiving the installation kit. Our Product Range
Our product range consists of five main sections namely Wiring Harness, Installation Accessories, Distribution Boards, Conventional wiring and Assemblies.
• Wiring Harness
The wiring harness consists of a single to multi core cable system which is very effective in saving time and money by reducing labour costs. The harness system is designed by our designing team by using state of the art software whereby all power points, accessories and Distribution Board is carefully selected and located on a floor layout diagram* to the clients specific needs. After client approval by means of a written order the design of the harness is forwarded to our manufacturing plant were the assembly of the design starts and from there it is neatly packed into an installation kit that includes all that you’ll need to conduct the installation.
*If the client wishes not to install the harness themselves, the installation of such a harness can also be arranged. The harness is manufactured to the Electrical Installation Code SANS 10142. Although we aim to manufacture our wiring harnesses to SABS standards we can also adapt to manufacturing of harnesses on a recognized international standard such as Australian, Portuguese ect… should the client so desire.
• *What do you need to order a harness? Before a wiring harness can be designed the customers have to supply us with a floor layout diagram of the building in which the harness is required. Our Design team then starts designing the positions of were specific power points are required and drafts up a cost of supply and/or installing of such harness. After client approval, the harness is manufactured and presented to the client in an installation kit form.
• Benefits of using a wiring harness
There are numerous benefits of using a wiring harness. Some of these benefits are:
- The harness, Distribution Board and Accessories like Plugs, Lights, and Switches ECT… is supplied in kit form.
- The wiring harness is easy to install and requires semi-skilled labour.
- The wiring harness is prefabricated and thus can save you up to 25% on labour costs.
- The wiring harness is neatly labeled and easy readable wiring diagrams indicate as to which wire supplies which outlet.
• Installation Accessories
A second part of our product range is accessories. All those necessities you’ll need to complete your electrical installation like plugs, switches, light fittings, wire ways ECT..., we can supply. We have a variety of accessories to choose from ranging from locally manufactured accessories right through to foreign accessories. Our accessories are supplied direct from the Manufacturer thus cutting out the middle man and putting back money in our client’s pockets. Some of our International accessories include British, French and Schuko products.
• Distribution Boards
How many times did you witness that an electrical installer or contractor arrives on site with a box of circuit breakers on the one side and the distribution board on the other ready to conduct an installation. An then they try to figure out which circuit breaker comes were to feed which circuit. This old method is quite a costly exercise and involves a lot of skilled labor, time and effort which can eat away into any Company’s profits. FIG 2A:- Small Distribution board Pre-Wired
For this reason GvE Electrical CC provides the client with pre-wired Distribution Boards from your small typical Town House Board right through to your most difficult “JSO” type boards. All that we require is some form of information like a line diagram of the Distribution Board to be wired or a circuit description eg: 2 Plug Circuits, 3 Light Circuits… and we will cost and construct such Distribution Boards, again saving time and labour costs. • Conventional Wiring Systems
GvE Electrical CC also conducts installations and/or supply goods to the Conventional Electrical market were the installation of buildings are typically done with Twin & Earth, GP-Wiring, Suffix Wiring ECT…
Unlike the wiring harness these types of installations need a bit more skilled labour on site and we can provide the client with an attractive package whereby we supply and Install all Wiring and Accessories such as Plugs, Switches and DB’s we can also supply and install all types of Wire Ways such as
Power Poles, Power Skirting, Wiring Mesh and Channel to the need of the client. Unlike your normal Electrical Contractor we supply and /or install direct from the Manufacturer thus cutting out the middle man and reducing costs to the client. These types of installations will be done in accordance with SANS 10142 and the OHS-Act, Act 85 of 1993
• Assemblies
An assembly is aimed to ensure quick and easy onsite installations by providing the electrical installer with pre assembled electrical accessories. Our assemblies includes pre-wired power poles complete with socket outlets, data and telephone outlets, floor and roof flanges and electrical connection tail pieces so that the electrical installer does not waist time on site to assemble these items themselves but rather concentrate on the job at hand.
