Project Highlight – Candelaria Copper Mine, Chile

Introduced in 2017, the BTB Bolted Truck Body project at Candelaria demonstrated the strength and efficiency of the modular bolted tray design in a demanding mining environment.

Designed for 100–400 tonne class haul trucks, the project delivered 43 units and achieved high productivity with zero structural failures recorded during operation.

The fully bolted design allows trays to be transported in containers, assembled at the mine in just two days, and maintained by replacing individual components rather than the entire body, helping operations reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

BTB truck bodies are not built as a single welded structure.
They are built in sections, each bolted into place and designed to be handled, removed, and replaced individually.

In real mining conditions, wear never happens evenly. Floors, corners, sidewalls and impact zones take the abuse first. With a sectional design, those areas can be addressed directly without cutting, welding, or stripping the entire tray.

That means:
- Repairs are faster because only the damaged section is worked on
- Maintenance costs are lower because you’re not replacing what still works
- Structural components stay in service for longer
- Downtime is reduced because the truck returns to operation sooner

This is a design built around how mines actually operate, not how equipment looks on paper.
