Millions of workers are required to wear respirators in various workplaces throughout the United States. Respirators protect workers against insufficient oxygen environments, harmful dusts, fogs, smokes, mists, gases, vapors, and sprays. These hazards may cause cancer, lung impairment, diseases, or death.
Did you know that the Respiratory Protection Standard (1910.134) is one of the most cited standard during OSHA inspections?

Monthly Safety Topic for August: Hot Work! 🔥🔥🔥
Hot work refers to any maintenance or construction process involving open flames, sparks, or heat-producing tools. Common tasks include welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, and grinding. Because these activities easily ignite nearby flammable materials, they require strict permitting, hazard assessments, and fire watches.
At Spartan Arc, we do a large amount of hot work, so we have to make sure we are ALWAYS following the very important Safety Requirements:

🔥Permitting - Hot work permits are a must have!
🔥Area Preparation - Preparation of the area that how work will be conducted at.
🔥Fire Watch - Look out for loose sparks and potential fire hazards!
🔥Health Protection and Ventilation - Protect those lungs! Hot work can produce a variety of hazardous fumes.
