We have exciting news! We just signed a lease for our new shop location, at 5104 Pentridge Street! This new location has everything we need and nothing we don’t, putting us in a much better position to serve the needs of our customers and to continue saving worthwhile material from being condemned to the landfill. We will soon be part of a vibrant community of other small businesses, such as Pentridge Station, Black Hound Clay Studio, Satellite Cafe, and many more. There’s no way we could have done this without everyone’s support, and we are beyond excited about this next step in our journey.

Thank you for all the support this past year, and particularly this past month. This move is still going to be very expensive though, and we would be beyond grateful if you could share this post, our previous moving post, and our GoFundMe page!

Stay tuned for more updates as moving day gets closer.

We are proud to offer marble from the Centennial Exposition in Fairmount Park! This marble was installed in Memorial Hall in 1876 and was recently removed during floor restoration. We were able to save what wasn't fit for reinstallation in collaboration with Beaty American.

These pieces are perfect for mosaics, thresholds, backsplashes and whatever you put your mind to. Available in white, red, and King of Prussia blue, in a variety of shapes and sizes. Larger slabs available!

Stop by and grab some history to incorporate into your project for this year's semiquincentennial! 250!

Check out the WHYY article about the floor restoration at the link in our bio!

We are Philada Salvage, who you may know as Leader Theater Salvage, a recently formed architectural salvage business in West Philadelphia. We were founded in September 2025 as a partnership between 3 friends; our business started as a “carrying of the torch” from Bob Beaty’s shop Beaty American - work with a guy who says “so you want to get into the salvage business?” enough and it will eventually stick!

Our first job was saving parts of a c. 1917 stone house in Haverford which was being imminently demolished, so we rushed to secure a storage unit. From there we pursued locations that we could really put down roots in, and settled on a long vacant theater at 41st St and Lancaster Ave. We chose that location seeing the potential to grow alongside the restoration of the building.

Recently we received notice that this partnership was no longer the priority of the property owner, and we would need to pack up shop and move within 3 months. Being a relatively new small business we have a lot of room to grow, working with the community to keep materials in the loop and out of the landfill, as well as expanding to host workshops and provide space for local artists and builders.

We can’t do this alone. Our success is driven by relationships with people who share our passion for preservation and reuse. We anticipate moving costs to be around $4000, and initial deposit for a new space to be around $6000.

To help offset these costs we have created a GoFundMe, which can be found at the link in our bio. Outside of donating, you can help by spreading the word to others who are sympathetic to the cause. Whether this exposure leads us to new connections with people who can donate their time processing or packing material or just finding a home for any of our current stock, every little thing helps.
