When a coastal impact leaves your gear in pieces, we don’t just patch it—we rebuild it. We took a shattered prop and a severely bent strut and skeg, and reconstructed the entire assembly from the ground up.

The 5x3 kl̓upčaʔas / klupchaas pit and grill is ready to head home to Ahousaht.

Built with intention and flexibility, the grill slides and can be fully removed, and additional stands can be added to barbecue more than six fish at a time.

The beginning of a kl̓upčaʔas / klupchaas

In many Nuu-chah-nulth communities, klupchaas is commonly used to mean barbecued salmon / salmon cooked over an open fire.

We’ve been asked to create a grill and pit so Salmon can prepared outside of the community hall in our neighbouring nation stay tuned for the finished product.

As an Indigenous and Black-owned business, we’re looking for a bank or credit union that truly values relationships and is invested in the success of Indigenous entrepreneurs and diverse-owned businesses. We want to work with people who understand the importance of community, trust, and long-term partnership.

Great experience! One of our kicker mounts broke and Island Coast came down to Ucluelet and repaired the mount on short notice. Great welds and very time efficient. Highly recommend.

🦀 Supporting Our Local Fishers 🦀

We had the chance to work on a local crabbing boat this week, repairing cracks in the hull to keep it safe and seaworthy. These boats are out on the water day after day, providing for families — so it means a lot to help keep them running strong.

Proud to do our part in supporting the people who keep our coastal traditions alive. 🌊⚒️

✨ Another successful job completed ✨

We recently had the pleasure of helping out Matt and his family while they were visiting Tofino. Upon setting up their 5th wheel travel trailer, they discovered a serious issue — a broken chassis (bent, ripped, and cracked).

Gemar jumped in and was able to straighten and patch the chassis right there in the campground, making sure their family could safely enjoy the rest of their vacation and make it all the way home to Alberta. 🙌

After inspection back home, the shop was impressed with the work — especially considering it was done on-site in a campground!

What made it even more meaningful was meeting such a wonderful family. Matt shared how much he appreciated not only the quality of the repair, but also the care and kindness we put into helping them out. 💛
