🚨 WE’RE HIRING — AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC 🚨
📍 Melody Muffler | Sandpoint, Idaho
We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team with a primary focus on exhaust, emissions diagnostics, catalytic converters, and exhaust manifolds.
This is not just a remove-and-replace position. We want someone who can diagnose WHY a catalytic converter failed so we can correct underlying engine or emissions problems and help prevent repeat converter failures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Catalytic converter removal & installation
• Exhaust manifold removal & installation
• Diagnosing Check Engine Lights and emissions-related faults
• Oxygen sensor diagnosis
• Fuel delivery & injector diagnosis
• Ignition system diagnosis
• Engine coolant temperature & thermostat operation
• EVAP & EGR system diagnosis
• Vacuum leak testing
• Intake/throttle system diagnosis
• Exhaust leak and restriction diagnosis
• Identifying rich/lean conditions, misfires, oil consumption, overheating and other conditions capable of damaging catalytic converters
• General mechanical work as needed
PAY:
Starting at $20/hr
Pay increases based on experience, demonstrated skill, diagnostic ability, quality of work, and the ability to complete jobs correctly within appropriate industry timeframes.
Highly skilled and productive technicians have the opportunity to earn more as they demonstrate their capabilities.
SCHEDULE:
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We want someone who understands that a failed catalytic converter can be the result of another problem—not necessarily the original problem.
You should be comfortable using scan data, diagnostic equipment and hands-on testing to determine the root cause of emissions-system failures.
We’re looking for someone who is:
✅ Experienced in automotive diagnostics
✅ Comfortable with difficult manifold & catalytic converter R&R
✅ Able to diagnose engine-management and emissions systems
✅ A strong problem solver
✅ Dependable and self-motivated
✅ Willing to work alongside our welders and fabrication team
✅ Professional with customers and coworkers
✅ Willing to jump in wherever the shop needs help
Must pass drug test and have a clean driving record.
