I’ve had the unique opportunity to purchase this authentic 1990 Chevy 454 SS. Formerly owned, and constructed by Jeremy Cheatham during his stretch at Gas Monkey Garage. The truck features extensive rear chassis fabrication to tuck the custom Schott wheels, and employs Alden coil overs on all four corners, four link rear, panhard bar, rear disc brakes, a mini tub of the bed, and metal roll pan. I will be working with my friend and paint guru Rolando De La Torre of Eye Kandy Automotive Finishes to wrap up the fabrication and paint work on this beautiful truck. Although the initial goal will be to try and hang onto the truck, it might end up for sale as a roller or a mild gen 6 BBC build with a TH400 or 4L80E.

The Vortech v7 YSI is completely assembled, but we are ironing out some minor details.

Some pointers for those wanting to run a renegade bracket assembly on your SBF. We ended up using a Derale 1/2” fan spacer to retain the fan clutch assembly (not an issue with electric fans), we are using an SN95 upper radiator hose trimmed to clear the blower. The fan shroud has been trimmed back to clear the belt drive.

We run a copper NGK plug, 1-range cooler, with an initial gap of .025. We can tighten this further is we run into spark blow out, but with low boost, I don’t believe it will be an issue.
