Thermocill inventor and founder Keith Rimmer was delighted to attend an event celebrating Manchester’s Sustainable Materials Innovation Hub.

The SMI Hub at the Royce Institute, part of The University of Manchester, welcomed guests to hear of its future plans one year after it was created.

The hub and the university have worked closely to support Thermocill through the development of a prototype and applied computer modelling, as well as investigating the suitability and sustainability of different materials.

Keith and gathered guests heard about the progress that’s been made so far and the importance of helping organisations become more environmentally sustainable through game-changing innovations in plastics circularity.

Thermocill’s partnership with the SMI Hub has been a great success story – one that we’re truly proud of, and it was great to play a part in the event.

That’s why we’ve been busy creating new parts to enable Thermocill™ to be used for bay and bow-shaped windows. We want as many people as possible to be able to benefit from this energy-saving innovation with direct impact on reducing .

Our new parts connect lengths of Thermocill™ at different angles to enable our innovative device to be used on a variety of window shapes.

Got internal windowsills deeper than 250mm? With our new extension, you can now use the same parts in the box while extending to 350mm. Look out for our ventilation sill that will comply with part F of the building regulations.

As world leaders continue to discuss climate change as part of COP26, the way we heat our homes has never been higher up the agenda.

ThrowbackThursday to earlier on in the month when Thermocill™️ shared plans to turn to **p in a bid to further reduce .

We announced that our energy-saving device that greatly reduces carbon emissions was to go one step further in helping UK reduce their impact on the 🌍

Our innovative board device that creates a wall of warm air in front of windows located above may be manufactured entirely from **p in the future, following recent trials.

H**p, for those of you who don’t know, is a product made from the cannabis plant. It’s been used in building materials for decades and its potential role in enabling a more , low-carbon future is now becoming more widely recognised 👏

The environmental sustainability of this natural material comes from the fact that it absorbs carbon dioxide from the air as it grows.
