You've probably seen all of these trims mentioned somewhere, and if you want to know what they mean, we've got you covered.

While this doesn't cover every single detail, it's enough to get you on the right track 🤝

V-Spec: "Victory Specification"

A performance based trim aimed at general upgrades over the base model R34 GTR.

+ ATTESA E-TS Pro AWD system
+ Electronically controlled active L*D
+ Aero and suspension upgrades
+ Added gauge readouts on the center digital screen

V-Spec II: A refresh of the original "V-Spec" trim level.

+ Carbon hood with NACA duct
+ Upgraded rear brakes
+ Interior upholstery updates and aluminum pedals

M-Spec: "Mizuno Spec"

Named after Nissan's chief engineer, Kazutoshi Mizuno. The M spec prioritizes comfort and daily drivability over pure performance.

+ "Ripple Control" (comfort) shock absorbers
+ Proprietary rear sway bar
+ Leather interior with heated front seats

N1: A stripped, special lightweight trim focused on racing applications out of the box.

+ Removes A/C, audio, rear wiper, trunk carpet, and thinner factory paint
+ Revised engine construction and upgraded turbochargers

V-Spec II Nür and M-Spec Nür: The Nür is for Nürburgring 🏁

Named after the world famous racetrack we all know and love, these models were the final units ever produced, and acted as a send off for the platform.

+ Similar engine from the N1 R34
+ Gold valve cover
+ 300 km/h speedometer
+ Gold VIN plate
+ Millenium Jade paint option

Z Tune: The ultimate performance spec, built by Nismo after factory production had come to an end.

+ Hand rebuilt from the ground up. Nismo purchased these cars from Nissan, stripped them, and rebuilt them from scratch
+ Rebuilt factory engine rated to 500 horsepower
+ Custom carbon fiber body kit (including the famous Z tune hood we all love)

So now that you know, which one would you choose?

There won't be a Prelude Type R after all, but we think that's a good thing.

While the reasons for this decision from Honda appear to come from a sensible and financial place, we think the decision transcends way beyond the numbers.

The Type R badge is nothing short of sacred, and reserved for the most prestigious and focused platforms Honda can produce. That means you can't just add some driver modes, stick on carbon pieces, slap on a Type R logo and call it good. The badge must be earned, and at this stage, would mean a total redesign of the Prelude from the ground up.

With the current Type R lineup taken into consideration; the FK8, FL5 and even the Integra Type S, introducing another direct competitor to these cars just doesn't make a ton of sense. A Prelude Type R would have to (at a minimum) meet the performance benchmarks of the current cars, but more likely, would need to exceed them. This puts the Honda lineup in an extremely awkward spot, and would probably leave everyone confused as to what to do next.

Instead of doing this, introducing the Prelude as a sporty "lesser tier" option seems more sensible. Doing it this way adds focus and value to Honda as a modern "fun car" brand. Now, with the Prelude, you don't need to make a jump from something like a Civic Si all the way to an FL5 Type R, or Integra Type S. If you're somewhere in the middle, or looking for a different experience all together, that's where the Prelude comes in.

Although it's caught some heat from the community since it's announcement, reserving the Type R badge does the Prelude a ton of favors as a car someone might actually want to buy.

Enough about what we think though, what about all of you? Are you with us, or would you prefer to see a Type R variant?

A short time ago, we caught up with a fine gentleman named Damian after his wonderfully built Evo VIII caught our eye 🏎️

We could not resist getting the full details on the build, as well as snap a few photos in the process. That said, the modification list is literally a mile long, and we can't actually fit it all in one post. So, instead, we have a "back of the book" version for you all.

Big thank you to Damian for his time, and for building such a killer car 🤝

On this day, we thank, we remember, and we honor those who served and sacrificed it all for the sake of our freedom.

It is because of you, and those who continue to serve that we are allowed to enjoy the liberties of every day life in America.

We owe you everything, and your selflessness will never be forgotten 🇺🇸

Is newer, better?

More technology, more driver assists, more drive modes; all aimed at delivering a level of performance that cars of the past have already achieved.

Don't get us wrong, it's not that the new stuff is all bad. Cars like the GR Corolla and FL5 Type R are great in their own right. Though, we can't help but feel with each new model year, the soul these cars were born from continues to diminish.

The pure and connected driving feel that was once achieved with precise mechanical engineering is being replaced with simulated effects and electronic intervention. The same electronics that are advertised to provide better performance than ever before, are the same electronics that put the car in limp mode if you drive it just a little "too hard".

Not to mention all of these new features come with a hefty price tag in most cases, to the tune of $40,000+. So, are we somehow paying more for less? That's not for us to decide, but it does present another question:

Which side of the coin do you prefer? Old or new?

You just got the chance to choose between three of the most iconic wheels of all time. Question is, which one would you pick?

CE28, TE37, or ZE40?

This might be harder than choosing your starter Pokémon 😂

Let's hear it!

The folks at Whiteline make some of the highest quality suspension components out there, especially for the Mitsubishi platform.

As great as the car is from the factory, the kit featured here includes everything you'll need to bring the Evo X to a new level of handling. This is the same kit we have for our shop car, as well as our most recent Evo 9 project.

Just like many of you, Whiteline has been a go-to for suspension upgrades for as long as we remember. Follow suit with your build and you won't regret it! 🤝

2026 Marks the end of an iconic era of motorsport, and to say it's an unfortunate sight would be an understatement. PPIR is shutting down, and we felt their message should be seen by as many people in the car community as possible.

"After years of horsepower, passion, memories, and community, we have an important announcement to share.

Pikes Peak International Raceway’s 2026 season will be our final season of public motorsports events.

PPIR has been more than just a racetrack—it has been a home for racers, riders, teams, families, fans, and automotive enthusiasts from across Colorado and beyond. From grassroots motorsports events and festivals to track days, drift nights, drag racing, and unforgettable memories made in the paddock, PPIR has been shaped by the incredible community that supported us year after year.
To our drivers, renters, spectators, staff, partners, vendors, and supporters: thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your weekends, your events, your celebrations, and your passion for motorsports. Your energy is what made PPIR what it is today.
While the property is planned for future mixed-use redevelopment, plans are still in the early stages, with more information expected later in 2026.

Most importantly—this is not necessarily the end of all PPIR events. We are actively exploring opportunities with other venues to carry our automotive lifestyle events and festivals into the future and continue growing these experiences for our community. The future relocation of select PPIR events is currently under consideration, with additional announcements expected later in 2026.
For now, 2026 is business as usual, and we are committed to making this final season at PPIR one to remember. All scheduled events, festivals, track days, and experiences will continue as planned throughout the season.

This isn’t goodbye just yet. We still have the 2026 season to celebrate everything PPIR has meant to this community, and we hope you’ll join us as we make these final laps together.

2026 schedule and tickets available at PPIR.com
Thank you for being part of our story.
