We’re honored to share that our work on the Wharf District Resiliency Plan was recognized with an Honor Award in the Analysis and Planning category at the Boston Society of Landscape Architects Society of Landscape Architects Design Awards.

Our firm and a team led by Arup and the Wharf District Council developed a vision for a resilient waterfront that adapts to projected sea level rise and storm events while expanding public Harborwalk access along the iconic, working waterfront in Boston’s Wharf District. https://ow.ly/9nRU50ZeGZY

West Sheffield Road in Great Barrington, MA has fully reopened to the public following an extensive construction effort that kicked off earlier this year.

We provided engineering services to support the realignment of approximately 500 feet of roadway following a slope failure that reduced travel to one lane of alternating traffic. Our scope included an initial evaluation to determine current conditions, followed by geotechnical engineering, drainage improvements, roadway design, bid assistance, and construction phase services.

Now complete, the road has been restored to two lanes of traffic with improved infrastructure to support safer travel along this rural road.

Richard Houghton joined our client, Friends of the Public Garden, at Fenway Park to accept the Frederick Law Olmsted Award from Preservation Massachusetts for our work on the Child Fountain Restoration.

Our in-house landscape architecture studio, Halvorson, collaborated with project partners to renovate the historic fountain and sculptures at the iconic Arlington Street entrance of the garden. The project reactivated the fountains that had been out of service for decades, added additional seating to sit and enjoy the fountain and artwork, and enhanced the visitor experience while respecting the historic character of the garden.

Congratulations to the full project team, including FOPG, City of Boston of Boston, Fleming Brothers, Daedalus Conservation, Bryant Associates, Dan Euser Waterarchitecture, LeMessurier, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, and GEI Consultants,.

Congratulations to our 2026 Leadership Institute class, who recently gathered at our Westfield headquarters to celebrate graduating the program.

This year’s class brought together 25 employee-owners from across disciplines and office locations. Over the course of the 10-week program, and through engaging sessions with members of our leadership team and experienced outside consultants, participants strengthened personal and professional leadership skills, as well as communication, collaboration, and other tools to help them succeed.

We’re proud to invest in developing leaders at every stage of their careers. https://ow.ly/Mo3z50Zcm6s

We joined the Dracut Water Supply District to celebrate the groundbreaking for its new PFAS treatment facility in Tyngsborough, MA.

This new facility will treat PFAS in the water supply. The project also includes installation and rehabilitation of a water main transmission to enhance system reliability and capacity, as well as comprehensive upgrades to the Lakeview Avenue Pump Station.

The groundbreaking ceremony included remarks from Board of Water Commissioners Chair William Zielinski, Jake Vitali from the Office of State Senator Vanna Howard, Lou Soracco, Colleen Garry State Representative, and Tyngsborough Town Manager Colin Loiselle. Mary Danielson led a tour of the adjacent Drinking Water Treatment Plant, completed in 2023 that treats iron and manganese in the public water supply wells. When designing the plant, our engineers included provisions to accommodate the potential for future PFAS treatment. Our team is providing design, permitting, funding application assistance, bidding, and construction phase services for the new facility. We look forward to partnering with DWSD and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on this next step.
