Safer travel takes thoughtful design at each crossing and connection.

Guided by community input, our team led the design of a multiphase transportation improvement project along Cross Highway in Westport, CT. New sidewalks, enhanced pedestrian crossings, and intersection improvements strengthen visibility and driver awareness, while radar-actuated illuminated stop signs and a rectangular rapid-flashing beacon (RRFB) improve safety for people walking and driving.

A wider replacement bridge over Dead Man's Brook completes a continuous pedestrian connection and increases capacity to manage storm flows.

Demolition is underway at 150 Windsor Street in Hartford, marking an important step toward transforming the former data center into a new destination for learning, innovation, and community development.

We joined Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, City of Hartford - Town & City Clerk Economic Development Department, representatives from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), state and local representatives, American Environmental Inc., and other project partners to celebrate this milestone.

Our environmental specialists are providing hazardous materials assessments, abatement and remediation design, demolition engineering, and demolition and air quality monitoring as redevelopment moves forward. Plans for the site include a hotel overlooking Dunkin' Park, residential housing, and a proposed workforce innovation campus connecting local students with businesses and emerging technologies.

Heavy rain can put significant pressure on combined sewer systems, increasing the risk of flooding for nearby homes and businesses.

In Lowell's Belvidere neighborhood, we partnered with the City of Lowell, MA - Government and Lowell Regional Wastewater Utility to design a 1.6-million-gallon combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage tank. The underground system will temporarily store excess stormwater and wastewater until capacity becomes available for treatment.
