Don’t miss our technical speaking sessions at the upcoming New York Water Environment Association - NYWEA Spring Conference next week in Saratoga Springs.

Fred Mueller will present a case study about a small treatment plant with floating cover digesters that were converted to sludge storage tanks, one of which, went “boom!” He will review the results of the investigation into the cause, the impact it had on plant operations, lessons learned, and the Town’s plan to move forward. Dan Roop and Trent Guihan will also share more about our work with Upper Blackstone Clean Water and how our team used digital reality capture technologies such as 3D scanning to transform field condition assessments and asset management planning to support Blackstone Clean Water’s facility.

We celebrated an exciting project milestone as the Sandy Neck Beach Recreation Area officially reopened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, making it accessible to the public in time for Memorial Day.

Joining our client, Town of Barnstable, and project partners including Woods Hole Group and Goddard Consulting, this long-term coastal resiliency project aims to combat impacts from erosion, flooding, severe storms, and sea level rise while protecting coastal resources. As Barnstable’s only public beach on Cape Cod Bay, Sandy Neck is a popular year-round destination whose fees support public access and natural resource management – and its diverse ecosystems help to buffer storms, control flooding, and protect the community.

We provided site design, permitting, bidding assistance, and construction phase services for this project, which restored and enhanced dunes that help to protect the area, improved ADA accessibility through a reconstructed observation deck and walkway, and relocated the parking lot and Gatehouse to higher ground.
