Save this classic Chemex recipe for your next coffee ritual.
YOUR RECIPE
☕ 42 g coffee, ground medium-coarse
💧 700 g filtered water
🌡️ 205°F / 96°C
⏱️ About 4 minutes
🫖 8-cup Chemex + paper filter, scale & timer
PREP
Place the filter with three layers facing the spout. Rinse with hot water and discard the rinse water. Add your coffee, level the grounds, and zero the scale.
THE POUR
0:00 → Pour to 150 g. Gently stir to wet all the grounds, then let it bloom.
0:45 → Pour in gentle spirals to 450 g.
1:45 → Finish pouring at 700 g.
Around 4:00 → Let the brew drain, remove the filter, swirl, and serve.
The weights above are TOTAL water readings on your scale—not additional amounts. Brew time will vary with your coffee and grind.
