Cricket is a 2.5 year old Cinnamon Queen, and she's such a boss! She has mellowed out in her age, and is the biggest girl here. She has taken to asking for cuddles more and more lately, which you know I don't mind!

Sweetpea is a calico bantam Cochin, and she is so sassy and silly! She could melt the hardest of hearts with her sweet voice and fluffy pants. She is a house chicken who loves to escape and flap around the Lego room exploring on her own time. She is just so lovable!

Happy Sunday!

It's been rainy but warmer, so the eggs are finally picking back up. These are the days' eggs from the garage pullets! They're all doing so good now.

Make it a beautiful day today, rain or shine! Only you have the power to decide. Be positive- or not- and set the tone for yourself. You've got this!

Bertha on Bean

Bean is a professional napper. Bertha is so tiny, it doesn't even wake Jellybean when we put Bertha on her back. She will continue to nap until Bertha starts walking around. Then she's very confused about how Bertha got there, and Bertha doesn't understand why the 'floor' is moving underneath her, until she realizes it is Bean so she runs away to avoid getting pecked.

Chickens are so amusing.

Blue the Beggar

This girl always comes running, whether or not I have anything to share, which brings all the others running, thinking I definitely have something. Spoiler alert- I really didn't have a thing to share this time. Just love.

Mottled Bob

Bob is a top notch rooster-boy around here! We adore his gentle nature and beautiful plumage. He has truly grown into a handsome little fella, and I'm so excited to see the babies he can share with us!
You can see his gorgeous tail up close in the 3rd photo, and him with his best girl Sweetpea in the last. They are truly inseparable at this point, and I'm ok with that. He watches over her so well, inside and outside the house. Sweetpea is a house hen because of her heart condition, and he never takes advantage of her when she says no. Rosie (my black silkie hen) will be joining them to build a full trio soon.

Thank you once more for this wonderful silkie boy, Becky! He is a dream.

Two mottled Serama, one smooth and one frizzled. Alarma is our experienced older lady coming in at age 3, while Bertha Bird will be turning one next month! They are of no relation to each other, but I love seeing how similar yet different they are.
