This clutch hook sling, "pictured to the right," is a great piece of rigging that allows you to add a sling hook to any link of chain that you choose, so you don't have to wrap your 1/2 inch chain around shackles.

Here is another way to connect a sling hook, "pictured to the left," to any link of a chain you choose, so you don't have to bend your chains as much. This allows you to stay within the D&D ratio efficiency, "see attached chart"
This assembly does basically the same job as the clutch sling hook pictured to the right. But it does not lock onto the link of the chain as the clutch mechanism does.
