Some loads need to go up before they can go anywhere.

A scissor lift raises product to the height the process calls for, then lowers it again, cycle after cycle. Folded down, the arms sit low. Extended, they reach the working height. The frame, arms, and pivot points are what make that motion steady.

A shear pin is built to break. That is its job.

When a drive overloads, the pin gives way so the chain and gearbox do not have to. The trouble starts when a broken pin gets swapped for whatever is on hand. A substitute can turn a quick fix into damage to the drive, the chain, and the gearbox.

Lock out the drive, replace it with the right pin, then ask what caused the overload.
