Do you think Subaru or the family is in the right here? Personally, I believe you should be able to repair and have access to everything you need, for the products you buy. Obviously, I don't expect companies to devise their proprietary knowledge about software or chip design, but they should divulge enough to where you can repair and replace your own vehicle components.
