It doesn't matter where you're from, what you look like, or what you have. Independence Day is about remembering where we've come from, honoring those who gave so much for our freedom, and appreciating the opportunities we have because of their sacrifice.
As we celebrate the 250th Independence Day this coming weekend, let’s remember that it’s about so much more than fireworks, cookouts, and a day off from work.
It’s a day to be grateful for the men and women throughout our nation’s history who had the courage to stand for freedom—and for those who have continued to protect it through their service and sacrifice.
The freedoms we enjoy every day—the ability to speak our minds, worship freely, build businesses, raise our families, and pursue our dreams—came at an incredible cost. They were earned by generations of Americans who believed that liberty was worth fighting for.
Fly the flag with honor, thank a veteran, teach your children why we celebrate, and remember that freedom isn’t free.
Pray for our military, our first responders, and for wisdom for our nation.
May we always remain one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
