Happy Labor Day from InSoFast.

Today we’re recognizing the builders, contractors, installers, and crews whose hard work keeps projects moving forward every day.

Thank you for what you do. 🇺🇸

This graphic does a great job showing what Batt-Brackets were designed to do.

The system gives builders a way to use batt insulation as continuous exterior insulation by moving the insulation outside the sheathing and placing it behind a v***r permeable WRB and ventilated rainscreen.

That means fewer thermal bridges, strong support for furring strips, drying potential behind the cladding, and compatibility with common batt insulation materials like mineral wool, fiberglass, and wood fiber.

A simple idea with a lot of building science behind it.

There’s something satisfying about watching an end wall come together.

In this build, the customer used the InSoFast End Wall Bundle and Corner Bundle for a standard 20' shipping container. These pieces help frame out the end wall and corners so the container can move one step closer to insulation, finishing, and becoming a usable space.

It’s a simple part of the process, but seeing it come together in a timelapse makes it easy to understand how the system works.

The X-Bracket System creates the depth for spray foam while giving the assembly a clear path for furring strips and cladding attachment, as well as designed for cross-ventilation behind the finishing That means you can build out continuous insulation without turning the exterior wall into a complicated mess of layers.

Clean sequence. Strong attachment. Better wall performance.

This is the kind of customer project update we love to see. This project is located in Mill Hall, PA from a new construction build using the larger X-Bracket System around the entire home the home and we’re going to break it down step by step.

First up: the roof!

These photos show the roof assembly starting to take shape, from early framing to the X-Brackets being laid out across the roofline.

For roof applications, the X-Bracket System helps create the depth needed for exterior insulation while supporting a more continuous building envelope from walls to roof.

More of this project coming soon!

What part of the process would you like to see next? Sprayfoam on the roof or X-Brackets on the exterior walls?

When InSoFast panels are added to the outside of the wall, the wall assembly gets deeper. That means the window opening needs to be flashed correctly so the exterior finish can transition cleanly and water can be directed away from the opening.

This video explains how the flashing detail works around inset windows when using InSoFast exterior panels.

It is a small part of the install, but it plays a big role in the finished wall system.

Exterior insulation is only as good as the details around the openings.

On this project, the InSoFast MAX 3.75" panels were cut to fit around the window opening while the tongue-and-groove edges allow each panel to interlock cleanly with the next.

That combination helps create a cleaner install around windows, corners, and wall transitions while supporting a more continuous insulation layer across the exterior wall.

These are the kinds of details that matter before the finished exterior goes back on.

A little before and after from a container build.

The first image shows what can be done with our 2.0 panels paired with inserts. That combination helps account for the corrugated profile of the container and shows that the 2.0 panel system can still be adapted for this kind of application.

The second image shows the cleaner finished look using our CX-44 panel, which is still the better panel for shipping container projects.

So while CX-44 is our go-to for containers, we still wanted to show the capability of the 2.0 panel + insert combination and how versatile the system can be.
