One key step happens before filling. Pouch detection and no-pouch/no-fill control help prevent unnecessary filling cycles when a pouch is missing or not ready, reducing product waste and cleanup.

The pouch is then picked up and opened before product enters the filling section. This helps create a more reliable transfer into filling and sealing, especially during continuous production.

Seeing pectin and gelatin gummies side by side makes the texture difference clear. Pectin often gives a shorter, cleaner bite, while gelatin has more stretch and recovery.

That difference comes largely from how pectin and gelatin form their gels, and it matters in production too.

Pectin is a plant-based polysaccharide. Brix, pH and temperature are key process variables for gelation. If the mass starts to gel too early, it becomes harder to deposit consistently into the molds.

Gelatin is a collagen-derived protein that forms a thermo-reversible gel network as it cools. This gives the gummy its characteristic elastic chew. Temperature still affects flow, and enough cooling is needed before demolding.

This is why target capacity alone is not enough to specify a gummy production line.

Two products with the same target output can still need different processing conditions.

For confectionery, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical manufacturers, defining the process requirements early can reduce trial adjustments and rework during line setup.
