Winterizing lawn mowers is a crucial part of lawn mower ownership.

Here is a quick winterizing checklist:
• Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank
• If you have a diesel machine, add anti-gel to prevent the fuel from gelling up
• Run the engine to release condensation, burn off old fuel, and pull the fresh fuel treatment through the carburetor
• For battery maintenance, you can run the engine to leave it fully charged, use a battery maintainer while it stays in the machine, or pull the battery to store and charge it in a warm place
• Thoroughly check the machine for any signs of food or nesting materials to prevent rodents from chewing on your wires
