GMS STEEL MANUFACTURE, is seeking a strategic-minded, hands-on Inventory manager to join our team to own our inventory processes and controls.

The Inventory Manager will be a critical member of the team that will help drive positive culture change for our inventory processes. This position will be responsible for managing our inventory controls, performing cycle counts, and leading the physical inventory performed at the site. Majority of the time will be spent outside in the elements loading and unloading trucks.
Telehandler experience required.
This job requires moving material from the yard to the shop and from shop back to racks out in the yard.
This position will also play a key role in managing relationships with internal support groups and in the development of inventory strategies to improve efficiencies and reduce variances.

-Develop, implement, and refine processes for ensuring control of all inventory at the facility.
-Work with the procurement, sourcing, customer service, operations, and finance functions to ensure the organization has an effective process to manage inventory and reduce variances.
-Develop and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement of inventory controls.
-Working directly with Shop foreman and Sales Managers to oversee and prioritize shipping of outgoing material creating long and short term goals
-Create and maintain fluid and effective shipping schedules.

Inventory Manager Requirements:

- Excellent attendance and punctuality history
-Successful 5+ year track record in related inventory role.
-Strong proficiency with Office – Excel, Word, Outlook.
-Strong process development skills.
-Strong collaborative and communications skills.
- Forklift and telehandler, driving certification.

-Experience welding carbon steel pipe
-Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment required for TIG welding
-Measure and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, and calipers
-Assist plumbers, HVAC, and manufacturing engineers during construction
-Carry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts
-Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers
-Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codes
-Carry out preventative maintenance and repair of piping systems and metal structures
-Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements
-Perform TIG welding on materials such as stainless steel aluminum, iron.
-Maintains qualification for welding certifications.
-Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at end of shift.
-Follows all business policies and procedures.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

-Plan, direct and coordinate projects to ensure on-time completions within budget
-Evaluate drawings and specifications to determine requirements necessary for project success;

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation;
- Must be willing to move to the DFW, Texas area;

- Team player with focused attention to detail.
